Fully supportive of dropping licensure requirements to practice medicine and shortening path for bright high school kids to go into medicine.

Again, one of my biggest regrets was voting for President Obama in 2008 as a medical student & celebrating the passage of the ACA
Little did I know the carnage it would wreck on the medical profession and my future patients. I had no idea then that the ACA was written to strip physicians of their autonomy, boost insurer profits & drive healthcare consolidation
End result 15 years later is a more expensive healthcare system with less competition resulting in lower quality, less efficient care for patients. Coverage is not care!

As you know, nurses work in the same environment as doctors. Should we have nurses skip med school and become doctors after 2 years on the job?

Today I rounded in the hospital on my patients and saw many physicians wandering around away from their family along with dedicated nurses, security, sanitation team, and others. One doctor had a list of 5 hospitals as he checked off patients. Healthcare is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week job. Many physicians don’t take time off. Thank you to our dedicated healthcare professionals and those who support us!

@Brixwoof @shitp0sterMD @jbcarmody There’s no such thing as a rigorous NP program; the two are antithetical. Also, years of bedside nursing does not translate to medical practice; nursing is not preparation for being a nurse practitioner.

Not long ago, Tennessee passed a law that would allow certain international medical graduates to receive a medical license *without* completing residency training in the U.S.
But now, doctors on the medical board have refused to create an application for this new license.
