@SokobanHero @alz_zyd_ Haven’t read algorithms illuminated, but algorithm design manual is great. The story sections in between chapters made me actually work through it Cover to cover. Skiena also publishes lectures based on this book on YouTube, although I haven’t watched those.

@dkharms_ @j_bikker This is only correct if you want to match your actual fov. If someone increases fov so that they see more of the game (e.g. to gain a competitive advantage) than the added distortion might be an acceptable trade off, making the increased fov their “correct” setting.

@j_bikker One of my pet peeves is when people act like FOV is a matter of preference and you can pick any number you want. No. There is a correct value for it and its this right here.

@DoctorHarkness @ThePrimeagen It's honest. The point is that you can learn C and just use zig as a compiler, which eliminates a lot of setup needed and you can just get started writing C and it just works. And if you want to look at Zig, you can just combine the two if you like.

for all of those that want to learn C try zig reasons 1. its build system is much better 2. it has testing built in 3. it will teach you everything that c will teach you other than a couple of base concepts that are not hard to learn without all the suck it really is awesome
