@StandardHelp @StandardNotes When I try to sign out, I get scary messages about 4 unsynced items that will be lost forever. When I try to force a sync, nothing happens. Suggestions?

If you’re a long time Standard Notes user signed into the legacy sync.standardnotes.org server, please sign out of your account then back in to avoid syncing disruption. Signing in will automatically default to the latest and correct up-to-date server.

If this is the way the Parler hack actually went down, it’s a fantastic case study in cascading security failures.

New by me, Cybersecurity Roundup: in which I lament the bad-at-crime Trump cyber-sideshow, and congratulate the CEO of Coinbase for trying to be Mark Zuckerberg. Also, more of my bad attitude: patreon.com/posts/cybersec…

Was criticized today for “taking sides” by reminding people to vote. If encouraging people to vote is taking sides, at least I know I’ve taken the right one. #VOTE

@The_Mi_ke @cybergibbons Once planned to buy an ostentatious safe on eBay for my medical office. Fill it with rocks/concrete. Add a big label: Narcotics Only

@cybergibbons Better off digging a hole in the garden and burying your valuables. Have a big heavy safe in your house with nothing in it.

What are some good utilities/tools that you don't think other people know about? They can be commercial.

Undersea datacenter dulled with nitrogen has failure rate 1/8th of land-based systems. Good reminder oxygen is a a ridiculously dangerous nightmare chemical killing everything we build that humans breathe for fun. bbc.com/news/technolog…

@EFF More important, but harder to see, are the lawsuits you never had to file because the potential miscreants, knowing you were out there, chose to behave.

@AletheDenis Used to keep a toll-free number through a different SIP trunking provider for redundancy. Toll-free because otherwise customers got confused about which number they should use and wondered why we had two.

@duckduckgo Google's 8.8.8.8 is returning 40.89.244.232 for duckduckgo.com here, which times out. Quad9 (9.9.9.9) and other DNS resolvers seem to work fine.

@AletheDenis The eagle has landed. Now I just need to figure out how to most effectively tell Alexa to go f&@k herself. I'd love to just shear off the mic, but that might just pooch the whole device. Maybe hot glue? Root it and deactivate that portion of the software? #helpmehackthehub

@DoctorRon @SwiftOnSecurity The medical profession has this idea that faxing is "more secure" than email. That everyone forced to deal with them uses an email to fax service never occurs to them.
