@ndrei3k @JoestarJokic I mean, tbf to Kings fans, a lotta non-Kings fans kept arguing about how he's a dog and how he's such a good scorer you have to take the risk. That said this is just Summer League. I have to tell myself that, but this stuff has been in his file. This might just be who he is.

@Inhindsighyt I mean the problem here is that this isn't just "bad defense" this is straight up "IDGAF" levels of effort, and its the thing ppl worried about him because he did this even in college.

We all knew this though. He was entering the league as a bottom tier defensive prospect, the gamble was always if his offense will be able to hold enough water to nullify how bad he is defensively.

On three consecutive possessions Acuff: - closes out lazily on his man who passes it to an open Camden. Acuff doesn't make an effort to run at him to cover for Sharp - misses layup & takes his time getting up - takes 8 seconds to re-enter frame while his teammates defend 4-on-5

@thesunnyv Yeah, I'm a Nets fan and I was hoping to GOD outta all the remaining "top" guard prospects available we didn't get him for this reason. I'm not praying on his downfall, but watching someone "play" defense like this drives me insane.

@FakeAdamSilver @jaycaspiankang Generally my reaction to every summer league thing even if its good for my team is exactly lile yours. "It's Summer League." But this you have to scrutinize because its the same shit that happened in college with him. Maybe the season starts and its fine but...

@MirthMouser @joshscorcher Because the incident to them changes the dynamics of the relationship for the ppl in that platonic relationship in a negative way. I don't agree with all of this, its just how I've seen a lotta ppl gender regardless, feel bout one falling in love and being rejected by the other.

@MirthMouser @joshscorcher For a lotta ppl they believe the romantic supersedes the platonic in both feelings and relationships. And for a lotta ppl getting rejected romantically is the ultimate form of being told "I don't want you." On top of this it can be awkward so sometimes ppl disappear.. (Continued)

Some people do treat friendship as just a path to romance. That fear is understandable. But romantic feelings developing between friends don't mean the friendship was fake. Sometimes they arise naturally because the friendship was real. My wife and I were friends first. I suspected she liked me more than a friend, so I took time to seriously consider whether our values and futures aligned. Eventually, I asked her directly. She admitted that she'd made excuses to spend more time with me and went outside her comfort zone to grow closer to me. She was honest about it and terrified that I would reject her because of it. I didn’t treat her feelings as proof that our friendship was a lie. I simply said, “Okay. I’d like to give us a shot.” Two years later, I married my best friend. Someone hoping a friendship could become something more doesn't necessarily mean the friendship was fake. Sure, romantic love is very capable of ruining a friendship and a good friendship is terrifying to lose. But friendship is not always ruined by romantic love. Sometimes it becomes the foundation for it.

@idiotpeach Its nice to see color being put back into houses. Terrible seeing everything in black, white, and gray with zero personality. Whether you just got the olace or not congrats on the house, it looks lovely.

Yes. I read it as a child. Because it’s a children’s book. We keep lowering standards for children’s media and then wonder why kids can’t read or grasp complex concepts. Running into words you don’t know is part of the learning experience. Not an insurmountable obstacle.
pete@pete_churchill

@bazashc Have you ever read it??? It’s 100% not a children’s book and whoever says that is lying to you. Not only is the vernacular dated and elaborate but the sentence structure and lengthy writing is often hard to get your head around as an adult. Love that book! but it’s not for kids

@justMizuyuki I've seen it only once and it wasn't even an American, it was my Danish friend who told me he got with this really hot girl back when he was 19 but she was a right winger so he acted politically ignorant till he got sick of it. Learned his lesson I suppose lol.

@DoinSumin @BishopB87 @Ameen_HGA She wouldn’t have to do that if she had listened to the concerns of her partner in the first place. Which just points to the broader problem of black people not being listened to. Even by their partners and spouses (of other races).

A white co-worker at my old job told me that she didn't believe racism was as big of a deal as ppl made it out to be until she started dating a black man. They saw a woman getting beat by a man on the street and called the cops. Her boyfriend told her they should leave because when the cops arrive they will think HE is the suspect. She thought he was being paranoid about racism and waived off his concern. The police pulled up quickly and drew their weapons on him immediately. She had to jump in front of him and beg the police not to shoot and told them the man beating the woman is the WHITE guy a hundred feet away from them. She broke down crying when she told me this and said she never felt so ignorant in her life and didn't know how she went 40+ years as a parent whose kids had several black friends who she would always invite over but recognized she still never understood the racial reality they faced until that moment. She said it caused a crisis inside of her and she had to ask herself some very hard questions for a while but came out on the other side more educated and understanding.

What rights do white people have in America that Black people don’t? White people can call the police and not be treated like a criminal.

@carlavilarino1 @Ameen_HGA On top of this, America despite being very diverse is, outside of certain places, still pretty segregated (this was made like this on purpose) which also helps with the ignorance.

@carlavilarino1 @Ameen_HGA As a black American, a lotta white people think of racism in simple, individualistic 60s era terms. A person yelling slurs at a minority or something, and till recently often don't think of systemic things, like police treating you as suspect #1 because ur visibly minority. 1/2
