At the UN ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development @UNECOSOC, @UN_PGA urges states to " move beyond rhetoric" and provide/protect the funding needed for a greener and more equitable recovery that can keep our SDG commitments on track.

At the UN ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development @UNECOSOC, @ABNYOffice PM (@AOSISChair) cites "skyrocketing" levels of debt that are forcing some states to borrow money to service existing loans. Seeks a "bold" documents arising from this Forum to help avoid a "lost decade."

At the UN ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development @UNECOSOC, SG @antonioguterres laments the states which spend more on debt service than on education and social services combined, cites concern regarding the millions of children denied an education under the pandemic cloud.

@josesingerw encouraged parties to resolve existing differences within the framework of the dispute resolution mechanism, particularly in view of the major challenges the #JCPOA is currently facing.

Last #UNSC briefing of 2020 on the imp. of res 2231 @DominicanRepUN highlighted the importance of the #JCPOA as a major achievement of multilateralism & for int. architecture of nuclear non-proliferation. It constitutes a fundamental element for regional and int security

Visits of the Chair @josesingerw to #Mali & the region provided a great opportunity to hold meetings w/main actors & obtain relevant information from primary sources, fostering a better understanding of the sanctions, including the listing and delisting processes #sanctionsmali

At #UNSC VTC briefing Subsidiary bodies SC 2374 (Mali) Sanctions Com. @josesingerw cites informal meetings of the Committee and visits to the grown as contributors to the strengthening of confidence, an a way to better understand and support for the #sanctions regime.
