TROOPS OF 12 BRIGADE RESCUE FIVE KIDNAP VICTIMS AS TERRORISTS FLEE SUSTAINED MILITARY ONSLAUGHT Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army under 2 Division Nigerian Army have successfully intercepted and rescued five kidnapped victims abandoned by fleeing terrorists during ongoing counter terrorism operations in Kogi State. The feat was recorded on 17 June 2026 as troops intensified efforts to exploit the successes achieved from recent coordinated ground and air operations against terrorist enclaves operating within the state’s forested areas. The operation formed part of sustained offensive actions aimed at dismantling the criminal networks of notorious terrorist kingpins and denying the criminals freedom of action within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility. Acting on operational directives and following the recent air interdiction mission conducted against a known terrorist hideout within the forest, troops deployed from Forward Operating Base Oshokoshoko on a blocking mission along Oshokoshoko–Adankolo route within Adankolo Forest. During the operation, vigilant troops intercepted five kidnapped victims who had been abandoned by the terrorists while fleeing from the intense military pressure mounted on their camps. Preliminary findings revealed that the victims had regained their freedom after the terrorists were forced to disperse in the aftermath of the ongoing kinetic operations targeting their hideouts. The victims were immediately secured by the troops and evacuated from the forest to a safe location for further assessment and care. Subsequently, the rescued victims were moved to a military medical facility where they received medical attention and stabilization. The victims were also debriefed to obtain useful intelligence that could assist ongoing operations aimed at locating and neutralizing the remaining terrorists still operating within the general area. Efforts have equally been initiated to reunite the victims with their respective families after completion of necessary administrative and medical procedures. The successful rescue further highlights the effectiveness of the ongoing coordinated operations being conducted by troops of 12 Brigade against terrorists and other criminal elements threatening peace and security in Kogi State. It also demonstrates the military’s resolve to sustain pressure on criminal groups until all camps and safe havens within the area are dismantled. The Commander 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, commended the troops for their vigilance, resilience and professionalism which led to the successful interception and rescue of the victims. He noted that the achievement was a testament to the Brigade’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property within its Area of Responsibility. The Commander reassured residents of Kogi State and adjoining communities that troops will continue to sustain aggressive operations against terrorists and other criminal elements until lasting peace and security are fully restored. He further urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, emphasizing that public support remains critical to the success of ongoing military operations. Exactly 21 years ago today, five Igbo traders, along with their female friend, were brutally murdered in cold blood by men of the Nigerian Police Force led by then-DCP Danjuma Ibrahim at a police checkpoint on Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, after the female victim turned down the romantic advances of the senior police officer at an evening gathering in the city. The names of the five Igbo traders were: (1) Ifeanyi Ozor (2) Chinedu Meniru (3) Anthony Nwokike (4) Paulinus Ogbonna (5) Ekene Isaac Mgbe, and (6) Augustina Arebu, the only female victim and fiancée of Ifeanyi Ozor. All six were traders at the Apo Auto Spare Parts Market, Abuja. They were killed after DCP Danjuma made romantic advances to the only lady among them, Augustina (Tina) Arebu, at an evening gathering, which she rejected. A minor disagreement reportedly ensued, and the officer immediately stormed out of the gathering to the nearby police checkpoint on Gimbiya Street, where he told the policemen on duty that he had sighted a gang of armed robbers. When the Apo Six drove to the checkpoint, Officer Danjuma reportedly blocked them with his vehicle and ordered the junior policemen on duty to open fire on them. "Obey my last order," Danjuma reportedly shouted. "Shoot them! Shoot them! They refused my advances." The junior policemen obeyed the order and opened fire on the innocent traders. Four of the Apo Six were killed on the spot. The remaining two — the lady, Tina Arebu, and one of the five young men — were killed the following day. According to the findings of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, Tina Arebu was strangled to death by DCP Danjuma Ibrahim. This is according to the findings of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo and headed by Justice O.O. Goodluck. Immediately after the killings, the Nigerian Police reportedly went to work in a desperate bid to cover up the crime. First, Officer Danjuma Ibrahim obtained weapons from the Garki Police Station, planted them inside the Peugeot 406 car of the victims, and ordered the official police photographer to take photographs in an attempt to create the false narrative that the innocent traders were armed robbers killed in a gun battle with the police. However, both the Administrative Panel of Inquiry set up by the Police and the Judicial Commission of Inquiry established by the Federal Government concluded that DCP Danjuma led other officers in the killing of the six victims, including the strangulation of the only female among them and the burial of their bodies in shallow graves in what the Commission described as "a continuous single exercise of elimination to conceal facts." The Commission established the following facts: (Read carefully) The Peugeot 406 being driven by one of the deceased persons had six occupants, including the driver, five males and one female. The police buried the corpses of the six deceased persons in two shallow graves in the Utako District of the FCT, Abuja, under the supervision of the DPO of Garki Police Station, CSP Othman Abdulsalam. At the first point of contact between the police and the deceased persons on Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, not all the victims were killed there. No shooting came from the Peugeot 406 car being driven by one of the deceased persons. The only female occupant of the Peugeot 406, Tina Arebu, was strangled to death by DCP Danjuma Ibrahim and PC Dennis Asawa. The two locally made pistols, two live cartridges, two expended cartridges, a cutlass, and daggers found in the Peugeot 406 car were planted by officers, according to the Commission's findings. Thread continues below ⬇️ The then-and-now pictures of DSP Danjuma, the alleged mastermind of the Apo Six killings.

INEC Nigeria
INEC Nigeria@inecnigeria·
INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT RE: ALLEGED MISUSE OF AUTHORISED ACCESS CREDENTIALS AND UNAUTHORISED DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION FROM THE COMMISSION’S CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION (CVR) DATABASE The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to allegations currently circulating on social media and in some sections of the media regarding the alleged unauthorised access to the Commission's Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) database and the subsequent publication of information on a candidate in the recent primaries of a political party in the Federal Capital Territory. The Commission takes this allegation seriously and has immediately commenced a thorough investigation to establish the facts surrounding the incident. As part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide, authorised INEC Registration Officers were granted controlled access to specific components of the CVR system to enable them register new applicants, process requests for transfer of registration and update voter records where necessary. Such access is restricted to official duties only and is withdrawn at the conclusion of the exercise. The audit trail from the preliminary investigation has enabled the Commission to identify the user account through which the information was accessed. Accordingly, relevant personnel have been questioned, and all units connected with the incident are cooperating fully with the investigation. The Commission is also examining all technical, administrative and operational factors associated with the matter in order to establish individual responsibility and determine the circumstances surrounding the use of those credentials and identify any breach of internal access-control protocols before taking appropriate action against anyone involved. Preliminary findings from the Commission's audit trail so far, however, indicate that there was no external breach of the CVR database, no hacking incident, and no unauthorised external access to the Commission's ICT infrastructure. Rather, the information in question was accessed through valid user credentials assigned to personnel participating in the ongoing CVR exercise but released without authority. The incident under investigation relates to the retrieval of a specific voter record and does not indicate any compromise of the Commission's broader voter registration infrastructure or the personal data of over 90 million registered voters. The Commission wishes to state categorically that it takes the security, confidentiality and integrity of voter data with the utmost seriousness and remains committed to transparency, institutional integrity, and the protection of voters' personal information. Furthermore, the Department of State Services (DSS), on its own accord, has commenced an independent investigation into the matter. The Commission will continue to cooperate fully with all relevant security agencies and will not hesitate to refer any person found culpable for appropriate legal action. Members of the public and the media are therefore urged to disregard unfounded speculations while investigations remain ongoing. The Commission will continue to keep the public informed of its final findings and any measures taken in response to the incident in due course. Mohammed Kudu Haruna National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC) 2nd June, 2026

My Dad was a young boy during the war. My grandpa was a chief and a soldier, his home was a relief depot for Red cross, he personally handed his Camo to my dad to pass across to his first son and that’s me. Dad told me many stories about the war and how his mother almost went deaf from close shelling and later passed away from shock. He is in better position of telling that story than Britain and Yoruba. Sign the petition now. c.org/fJ2gM4qgZd

A report just confirmed what I have been telling you for months. The bread you buy every morning — the one your children eat before school, the one you toast and spread margarine on, the one you think is harmless because everybody eats it — contains chemicals that are banned in Europe. Banned. Not restricted. Not limited. Banned. Let me tell you what is in that loaf and what it does to your body. The first chemical is used as a dough conditioner. It makes the bread soft and fluffy. It also happens to be the same chemical used in the production of yoga mats and shoe soles. When you bake it at high temperatures, it breaks down into two byproducts. One is linked to tumour formation in the lungs and blood vessels. The other is a recognised carcinogen and toasting the bread increases its formation. The European Union banned this chemical in food entirely. Not reduced. Not regulated. Removed. It is legal in Nigeria. The second chemical was banned in Nigeria in 2003. On paper. In practice, independent research across multiple cities found that the majority of commercial bakers still use it. It is classified as a possible human carcinogen. Animal studies link it to kidney tumours, thyroid tumours, and a form of cancer in the lining of the abdomen. It destroys the kidneys. It damages the auditory nerves — which means it can cause irreversible hearing loss. And when used in high doses, which it often is because nobody is checking, it strips the bread of whatever nutrients were left. Vitamins A, B1, B2, niacin, essential fatty acids. All degraded. What remains is a block of bleached starch with a carcinogen baked into it. The third chemical is used as a preservative. It is also found in cosmetics. It is an endocrine disruptor — meaning it interferes with your hormones. It has been linked to infertility, reproductive damage, and breast cancer. For a country with one of the highest incidences of fibroids in the world, that should terrify you. And then there are the heavy metals. Independent university research found mercury, cadmium, and lead in bread samples across Nigeria. Not trace amounts. Impermissible levels. Cadmium — linked to lung cancer, kidney dysfunction, and hypertension. Lead — damages the nervous system, the immune system, the endocrine system, and the skeletal system. In your bread. Every morning. On your child’s plate. But the damage does not stop at chemicals and heavy metals. Let me tell you what the bread itself does even without the poison. Wheat bread spikes your blood sugar faster than table sugar. Every slice triggers an insulin response. Eat it every morning for ten years and the insulin response becomes permanent. The cells stop listening. The pancreas pumps harder. The sugar stays in the blood. That is insulin resistance. And it is the doorway to type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, belly fat that refuses to leave, PMOS, and hormonal collapse. Every single morning. From one slice of bread. Then there is your gut. The gluten in wheat irritates the gut lining. Not just in people with coeliac disease. In most people who eat it daily. The lining becomes inflamed. Permeability increases. Things that should stay inside the gut start crossing into the bloodstream. The gut bacteria shift. The beneficial species — the ones that protect the lining, regulate immunity, produce short-chain fatty acids — decline. The harmful species multiply. The fermentation changes. Gas builds. Bloating becomes constant. And then the motility slows. Bread is binding. It absorbs water in the intestine. The stool hardens. Transit time increases. What should move in 18–24 hours sits for 48, sometimes 72. You strain. Every day. The pressure builds. That straining — day after day, month after month, year after year — is how haemorrhoids develop. Piles did not come from nowhere. Piles came from a plate that makes your gut work against itself. Constipation. Bloating. Haemorrhoids. A gut lining that is inflamed and permeable. All connected. All fed by the same loaf. So let me list what that one loaf delivers to your body every morning: A possible carcinogen that was banned twenty-two years ago but nobody enforces. A dough conditioner banned in Europe, legal here, that breaks down into compounds linked to cancer. A preservative that disrupts your hormones and feeds fibroids. Heavy metals that damage your kidneys, your nerves, and your immune system. Insulin resistance from the wheat itself. Gut inflammation, constipation, and haemorrhoids from the gluten and the starch. And you eat it every morning. Your children eat it every morning. Your mother eats it every morning. Because everybody eats it. Because it is cheap. Because it is easy. Because nobody told you what is inside. Somebody is telling you now. The bread is not food. It is a chemistry experiment you eat every morning and call breakfast. If you are tired of constant bloating, constipation, fatigue, stubborn weight gain, sugar cravings, inflammation, or recurring digestive issues, send me a WhatsApp message for a well-structured meal plan that helps you eat in a way your body can actually heal from. WhatsApp: +2349118909688 Share this with someone who still thinks bread is harmless.

I think there is a deliberate attempt by @inecnigeria to disenfranchise a lot of people because you all remember when they said everybody should update their voter card. How can you update something that is permanent? But when people reacted, they later said it had been canceled. But two days ago, I needed to transfer my voter card because I relocated to a new place. Then I tried to search my voter status on the INEC portal, and it wasn't found. It wasn't found. I had to go to the INEC office to do the transfer. But up to now, I still can't find my voter status on the INEC portal. Also coming online, I have seen a lot of people complaining about the same thing. Please, @inecnigeria, what is happening? I hope you are not trying to do anything funny come 2027.
