I don’t mind libertarians. They a little overly idealistic at times, but if we’d actually listened to them after 9/11, we wouldn’t have the TSA, the Patriot Act, warrantless spying, or two decades of endless wars. We might even have a fiscally sound government today.
Must watch: In fall 2026, the federal is moving to eliminate financial aid eligibility for majors whose graduates do not earn at least as much as the average high school graduate. This incentive structure is going to effectively eliminate the humanities & liberal arts.

Be a boomer where everything is handed to you and nothing expected of you. Fuck every other generation and horde wealth then complain they don’t work
Easy life
@AlDefinitely If this follows the trends of the 2010s, particularly North Carolina and Pennsylvania, the gop basically sealed its own death warrant and gave democrats 3 seats in the 2030s
The worst thing about this race to the bottom in redistricting is that it won't matter. Democrats are overwhelming favorites to flip the House in any case. Republicans in the South are just eroding democracy for the sake of it.
@CatSplotchy@electionsjoe Republicans held 13-5 advantage in delegations. Once maps were redrawn that decreased to a split 9-9
You’re looking at face value not long term trends (which historically come back to bite the gop in the ass around every corner)
@Doop127587@electionsjoe You're also wrong about Pennsylvania 2018. Republicans held onto their majority in the State House of Representatives and a majority of the State Senate seats that were up for grabs, while losing the statewide vote by double digits in both cases.
@CatSplotchy@electionsjoe Base bearing for the gop drop from historical 10-3 to a 9-4 and now an 8-5 in the 2020s
It required Supreme Court shenanigans to save them from their own undoing in 24
@Doop127587@electionsjoe I have no idea what you're talking about with N.C. in 2018. Republicans held onto all 10 of 13 U.S House seats and sizeable majorities in both houses of the General Assembly, with a minority of the statewide vote in all 3 cases.
@binkyhawthorne@UK_murph@MattWalshBlog Actually the word your looking for is רָצַח which by every scholarly account translates to “break”
The rest is theological interpretive emphasis on what you define as a concrete answer of linguistic meaning. Which is a. nonsensical b. Can be interpreted to represent the opposite
@UK_murph@MattWalshBlog Google:
"The 6th commandment ... is translated as "You shall not murder" ... The original Hebrew verb, ratsach, specifically refers to premeditated, malicious, or unlawful killing, making "murder" a more precise translation than a general prohibition on all killing."
I am challenging any death penalty opponent — there are millions of them, allegedly — to step up to the plate right now and explain why this guy should not be executed. His guilt is established beyond any doubt whatsoever. His crime is utterly savage and heinous. Tell us why he doesn’t deserve to die. Go ahead.
@manofgod334@Splougy@MattWalshBlog Theologically no, if he repents he would be given a palace of gold in heavenly paradise. Then the conundrum continues, how can we condemn someone to death God commands be given eternal luxury?
@Splougy@MattWalshBlog He still deserves death. His crime cannot be reversed meaning rightful punishment should be given. If he repents then his punishment will be limited to his earthly crime as he will evade being punished by the Lord.
@KA_GlockRN@Splougy@MattWalshBlog Technically, if that’s your position, no you’re not. Theologically that’s like saying your Muslim but you live your life based around the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita

@ConsoomerLs This isn’t a case of being overqualified. It’s a case of missing residency. A masters is the bare minimum in this field to potentially have certifications which take years after the MA.
Having the degree is only having 50% of the progress bar complete in this field.
Pastors across the United States are now stepping forward and revealing they were briefed in a secret meeting with government officials about how to reveal the existence of aliens to their congregation.

"Go and tell the church they are not ready for what is coming."
@BobKnob4906@mcsquared34 This limitation is set by educational and governing boards to ensure actual quality standards for practitioners in training. Otherwise you’d churn out medical staff like India churns out IT specialists and CS majors
@BobKnob4906@mcsquared34 Again, refer to my initial comment.
There is oodles of demand. Very low supply. The main barrier being obtaining CAMPEP certification. Unless you’re certified you just have a useless degree. Certification comes through residency hours (usually a few years after graduation)
