I say this as someone that wants to see the Islamic Republic in Iran fall… But it isn’t going to happen because of US ground forces. Among other objectives the US is creating space for the Iranian people to take over. That does not mean this will be another nation building exercise by the US. The time the Iranians have to do it is limited. I don’t say that arrogantly or with a presumption that I understand how horrible it has been for the Iranian people. I say it because it’s the truth.

The mister and I have been watching reruns of the Match Game from 1977 ... and man, Richard Dawson was the shit. Yes, we're at the point in our lives where we sit down after dinner and stream one or two episodes of an old gameshow every night. I'm not ashamed, lol. ;)

I watched this with my parents in the 70s! My dad watched the original 1960s daytime show when he’d come home from the 3rd shift at the Ford plant. In the 70s they relaunched because the daytime was too “raunchy.” I was too little to understand everything (1968 baby), but Charles, Richard, Brett, & Betty White always made me laugh because my parents were in hysterics when they answered.

@SKIPdaZIP Gene is far more entertaining than I remembered, lol. I was not old enough to even know what a gameshow was when it was on originally, but watching now it fun. It's 'hard' because neither of us were old enough to remember all of the pop culture references...

@PolitiBunny Richard was the go-to guy for the head to head matches, and for the ladies, post-win kisses. I loved the Charles and Brett dynamic up there, and Gene was a terrific host. A rotten shame that the remake a few years ago was so terrible.
