Oh boy.... what am I making now! 👀 This started as an Open API project and now I'm building something in addition that is bigger than the open API. Ha!

Build started!

I have the resources to build it now but I'd love to brainstorm with all of you domain investors about a Domain API. The idea is to create our own MLS that anyone can pull from, you as the domain owner keep your inventory updated, TXT record verification, Categories, folders, filters cont.

@chiropractic It's certainly addicting! Back up your data (hosting). Set up a Github repo and save everything. Have it commit after you make changes (that saves your edits/changes) when your working on it.

Not sure if I'm doing this right but this is how I'm building a site on bolt .new. In the case of ChiropracticExpo .com I wanted a database of all industry vendors, so I built that using either Gemino Pro and Grok. Took a couple of days to go from 0 to nearly 900 vendors with full data (descriptions, contact info, website, specialities, etc.) Having completed a master csv file I asked Gemini to create the site around that data and write the prompts for bolt. First run looked great but wasn't fully functional. Spent the day back and forth repopulating the site from scratch which used many millions of tokens. That was a mistake. But I'm on day 3 with 866 fully functional listings. Metabolic Support & Clinical Nutrition, Digital Diagnostics & Imaging, Human Performance & Recovery, Sleep & Postural Support, and many more. More tweaking to do, and then on to claiming listings and paid tiers for vendors/sponsors (just like at a live Expo Hall). Overall I'm excited!

The quality of the Daily Highlights continues to vastly improve and is pretty stellar now. I spend a lot of time every day tweaking this to be about as perfect as I can. Your feedback is appreciated as to what you like, dislike or would like to see different.

It would depend on who is serving the api inventory and how there site works. Atom could use it, Efty could use it, a registrar, an individual. All would have direct contact with the domain owner. Again, this is all just an idea/thought right now but that is what I’m thinking. At this point, I would not have Domain API process/handle the transaction. That would be up to who is serving the API how it’s handled (payment/transfer)

@DotWeekly The sale process will still go through the marketplace ?

I would also like to mention, Afternic, Spaceship and more aftermarket’s require users to search by keyword, which doesn’t work for finding what the user actually wants! That will change!

It would be nice to have incentives for those serving the Domain API inventory. People who use the API would need to be monitored so they are not abusing it. Verification should be awarded. I am willing to build it, make it good, safe and fast but I need ideas, suggestions etc.

Spaceship/Afternic marketplaces are hiding your domains and trying to keep the inventory to sell for themselves. This needs to be fixed and a central Domains API is what I feel will help solve it. You update your inventory and it's available on the Domain API.

@DInvesting I would expect you to close more five figure deals because of this.

I turned on self-brokerage at Afternic to see if I can improve close rates. I should be able to respond more quickly, but that's not necessarily hurting deals. TBD...
