I have loved this property since I was a young boy. Owned by famed Astronomer Carl Sagan, this “tomb” sat empty for years perched on the cliff edge adjacent to Cornell University. I was thankful to acquire this historic property from Mrs. Sagan last year and will renovate this to be a meeting/thinking place for digital artists from around the world. I have entrusted the design of this project to legendary architect firm I.M PEI
to help bring this property to its full glory. Anticipated completion date: late 2027….

Thoughts about Japan:
I got stuck in Japan during the pandemic for 9 months without being able to fly back home.
At the time, I was staying in a 6-floor hostel in Ryogoku, completely empty except for me.
The staff slowly became my friends since I had no one else in Japan.
After the third month of lockdown, my money ran out.
They noticed the slow decay in my condition. I was eating half a meal a day.
One day, out of nowhere, they called me down to the reception.
There was a big box, surrounded by several smaller ones.
The staff had told their friends and families about me, and together they gathered groceries and essentials to help me get through those difficult months.
There were even handmade face masks someone had sewn because they were impossible to find in stores.
I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I broke down in tears.
From that day on, more than friends, we became family.
Japan and its people embraced me when I was at my lowest point.
It healed something in me when I needed it the most.

Thoughts about Japan:
I’m walking through Meguro under the warm summer sun.
A strong wind blows, and suddenly a cloud of pink petals forms.
A few late sakura release their last petals.
A gift for being in the right place at the right time.
It made me think about life.
The best parts often arrive without our control.
Japan has taught me to let go.
To be like the sakura, letting go of their petals to keep growing.
To trust what life brings.

I Try hard really hard to keep my 3 young daughters grounded and to make sure they do not caught up in this very material world. Last night I told them if business ever gets really bad we might have to sell our house, cars etc and that I would have to get a second job and all non necessities would have to be cut to survive. My youngest said “dad would you have to also sell your NFTs” ? I immediately responded “let’s pray it never gets that bad” …..
