I'm privileged to announce that the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) have awarded Marine Lake Medical Practice host institution status for a Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centre (PC-CRDC), for which I will be Director.

💡 We’ve awarded over £14 million to GP-led primary care organisations across England to expand commercial research delivery & improve access to clinical trials. This funding will create 14 new NIHR Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centres. @DrPeterWeeks1 We are definitely not blaming GPs here. It’s clear that the problem is a lack of funding for our surgeries so that they don’t have the capacity to meet demand. That is definitely not GPs’ fault - and I don’t think we’re implying that. The fault is the government’s.

We have overwhelmingly voted to reject the Government and NHS England’s 2024/25 GP contract changes. More than 19,000 GPs and GP Registrars took part in the BMA’s referendum, with over 99% voting ‘no’. Our message can't be any clearer. bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/… @doctor_katie
