I went 26 years with no cavities. Clean diet. Occasional soda. 1 coffee per day. Solid oral hygiene. Then I bought an AquaTrue reverse osmosis filter and started spamming LMNT to remineralize. Got into endurance sports around the same time so I was basically sipping LMNT water all day. Felt great. Workouts were solid. 6-12 months go by between dentist visits and here I find out I've got 3 cavities. No apparent changes in diet or routine. I was shocked. So I did some mental excavation. Looking back LMNT was basically the only thing that changed. Didn't know the science, didn't read the literature, just went off gut instinct because it was the only thing that I realized I changed. I just stopped drinking it all day long. Time skip. I can say with certainty that my teeth look better than they have in a long time and I forgot I even made this change before reading this post. Of course, I still don't know if this was the issue. I never will. I still drink LMNT because I like it. Makes runs good. Now I just treat it like a supplement not a water replacement. This of course means nothing, just my story with it, but maybe its worth thinking about if you're someone who lives on or frequently enjoys electrolyte powders.

first time I had one of these bad boys was at 10pm because I was out of water slept like a baby despite the caffeine (???) second time was before meeting up with a girl and I yapped for hours and it tastes great gud drink @theoutgoingco

@powderhnd @gregmushen I used Chrome tools to save .HAR files that showed each API interaction, then told Claude Code to infer the GWT API boundary iteratively, writing raw API calls in Typescript. I can possibly open source this but I’m a bit worried Cronometer wouldn’t approve of this

So excess sodium dried my intestines out for years, beans kept transit time low and kept guts hydrated. Remove beans and guts dry up. Remove excess sodium and guts no longer dry up. High amounts of PUFAs in cell membranes can't be replaced unless there is sufficient SCFAs to take their place. So fibermaxxing was indeed an incorrect modality.

@CyllenianVibe Seems the soluble fiber prevents fat digestion too. I'd been eating beans for this very fact, as they capture bile for offloading. However, one needs to no only detox but also intake needed substrates. SCFA's must be present to recycle out PUFAs and LCFAs

It is fascinating that even the average person intuitively understands that they'll either have to completely accept the cookie cutter prescription of their doctor or they'll have to do some social engineer to get the attention any complex issue deserves. "Oh yes yes my uncle is a doctor and he said xyz could be interesting to try for this"

@exfatloss Another few months/years, and you might even be able to try CICO again. (I recently discovered that I *can* CICO, despite genuinely not believing in it as a concept. I think my metabolism just works rather well.)

Best refeed in a long time. I'm on day 3 and I still get pretty long-lasting satiety from swampy & sugary foods like home made cookies, croissant burgers, chocolate, beef sticks, or pasta. Previously, I'd get massive hyperphagia by day 2 at the latest. Not sure if it's the extra ACV, the fact I ate salmon for 5 days prior, or I'm just slowly coming in at a reasonable linoleic acid % in my body fat. I strongly suspect this is what a healthy metabolism always works like.

@lowmegatron I used to get hangnails constantly. When I quit seed oils last year, they disappeared and never came back. They recur if I have too many cheat meals in a row, then disappear again.
