Whilst traveling in the wilderness I always carry a copy of Mighty Master. If I get lost, I put it in scale and within seconds a person will appear and say yugioh has been dying since 2015. To find civilization again, I just walk in the opposite direction of them.

@atrocityTCG I'd compare pends more to the flip cards in MTG mechanically where you can either play them as a creature or some other kind of perm. There's plenty of other flip cards that behave closer pends depending on the case. Like for endy, there's sagas that flip to a guy on the back.

Had a LOT of mtg players in my mentions acting dumb about the complexity of pendulums like if magic didnt have at least FIVE different types of cards that work literally the same fucking way or have the exact same principle

@SimpleRectangle I kinda blame konami design dept. for that because they, only until very recently, really only designed pends to be these recurr. playstyles without a good way around it or a sufficent payoff that could stand on their own without expecting the recurr.

@SimpleRectangle Oh absolutely. It definitely feels like they've treated it as a second-class mechanic which was a frustrating feeling.
Tho for macro types of effects I think it's problems extend to a lot more. Just that pends are REALLY screwed by it because the big idea is that you recurr.

@DistantCoder @Barkeye52 @Review_bra There is no way you think these 2 are comparable in how easy to parse they are. You just play ygo much you've learned all the meta cards by heart, and you know how to interact with them just based on experience.

@SimpleRectangle ...the pend mechanic but rather a piloting issue because you didn't know the deck. Like you make that mistake once, you learn it, and then it never really comes up again?
I'm just saying I don't think that's really a frustration with the mechanic, but rather with your piloting.

@SimpleRectangle I can get the issues with antispell, effectively a skilldrain cont. spell, and having to explain a mechanic to opp.
I totally get these.
But I don't understand your issue with the preda cards. Like the way you describe it you're using trian from hand, which is not a fault of ...

Like, pendulums ARE complicated but when non-knowers say it, they are complaining about text. Me as a knower, I'm talking about gameplay wise because once you actually know how fucking miserable it is to play pendulum, you just know.

@kaosusyehu I think that bubbling on the surface is heat distortion. You could change the infill style to maybe solve the problem.

@Yugiman101 I get to keep playing a deck I enjoy for a long time and it rocks.
Also the feeling of being in the drivers seat going first, they say go-off-I-got-nothing, and I'm like "we're going on a trip buddy, buckle up", and you just sauce the guy. It's brain poison, you feel like a god.

@Yugiman101 Legacy support for some petdeck you love hits like nothing else especially if it brings it up to modern playability or at least close to it. There's a few "forever" archetypes like BlueEyes, DarkMagician, etc that get support ever few months/year

Does anyone LIKE modern yugioh? I keep seeing complaints about how the game has evolved over the years, and I wonder, for those like me who kept up with the game, do you still find enjoyment in today's play style?

Also want to be clear I'm not saying anything, especially not what you want out of a single player game you should do you, but rather that both options should have been available from the start and it's correct to give yourself both.

@steelballron Just dump the save via a hacked 3DS or something. It can be done via Checkpoint (app).
If you don't want to accidently load it in check. later, pop out the [m]SD card and move the file to a storage like a SSD/flashdrive.
You can also unlock challenge mode with it to start.

Talked to two different head judges and they both said the issue wasn’t the board, the boardstate was easily repaired. They said the game loss was because what I did was “dangerous” and could’ve hurt someone or something. Not sure why this l

Also HTs are not like lands. You don't NEED HTs to play your cards, they're interaction pieces similar to removal spells (which demand you have lands to play)

Yet basically none of them are playable in standard and the only real options are ones that are closest to true duals.
