@AcmePacks @CardAficionado Physical market is obviously a lot more mature. Considering the gap in maturity, and with it closing all the time, you can see why people are confident in digital cards. In fact if you told people the base wemby digital card was selling for $600 they would be surprised lol

@CardAficionado Gotchya, well the pop count for this being so high and still being worth more than its nft counterpart makes my point stand that physical cards will always be more sought after than nfts. Rarity does not always equate to value.

PSA 10 Population: 27,164 Last sale: $400 Market cap: $10.86M Which is ~50% less than silver. On blockchain, there is no silver - only the true base. Blockchain Pop: 406 Last sale: $575 Market cap: $233,450 Absurd disconnect. One of the most unbelievably obvious opportunities on the board. The market is still pricing the blockchain version like a niche alternative, when structurally is the cleaner, scarcer, more collectible asset.

@DreezoPanini Not the same for me. Physical are far more interesting as collectibles and I’m not a crypto guy so NFT sale prices (always done in crypto then loudly reported in fiat for the headlines) don’t impress me much. Physical have over a century of history behind them, that matters to me

@AshtonEck8 @Yetifornever @MelitoMichael1 With all due respect, you get the same from physical collectors talking about digital products. I like both so I can see both sides, but generally in the hobby there are “annoying” people. Not every person collecting digitally/physically is the same.

@AshtonEck8 @Yetifornever @MelitoMichael1 You clearly have experience in cards and the hobby. Take away friction such as shipping, grading, condition etc I’m sure you can find it enjoyable. Everything has its pros and cons, and I still enjoy physical cards as well.

@AshtonEck8 @MelitoMichael1 I don’t think its necessarily a flex, but its just some proof of how its grown, and is continuing to grow. If people are looking at the hobby from a monetary/investment perspective, blockchain is not something to look down upon. Of course all people collect in different ways.

@DreezoPanini Sorare completely lost its DNA. It went from a long-term collectible/game vision to mobile gambling vibes with constant resets and short-term mechanics. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone right now. Such a shame because the original concept was brilliant (wasted by poor execution)

@DreezoPanini Sorare must take part of the blame. They never pushed the collectible side enough. Panini is physical cards first, my PC is already complete there. What made Sorare interesting was the on-chain utility (gameplay, strategy, ownership, competitions). Great concept, poor execution..

@N00V0 How many people actually treat it as a collectible? Thats the issue for me, I see it as a game. The growth in Panini I have seen as a raw collectible is amazing. It doesn’t need any extra gimmicks. It has the brand recognition as a collectible, and it is treated as one.

@DreezoPanini That’s kind of the challenge. The original idea was always both collectibles and utility, not one or the other. A collectible alone is just a snapshot. Sorare tried to make it something you use and build with over time, which adds a different layer of value and attachment..
