@CVolatile93395 @BritisherPaz49 @benshapiro Yeah, Ancient Greeks weren't white. This has been a known thing for years now. It was the original historians who whitewashed them to begin with for obvious reasons. That dude in the pic looked the most Greek out of everybody in that movie, which is pretty hilarious.

@art_jake My main issue is that this review was pointless because he wanted to hate it before he even watched it. That video is to feed his base and nothing else. They have no original thoughts whatsoever. They all sound like they came off an assembly line.

Yes. The review is exactly as bad as you’d expect from Nerdrotic. Nothing but grift, deliberate misunderstandings & total idiocy on his part. Nothing new for him. Should have waited for Critical to unfreeze so he could parrot him like he usually does, the lack of quality when he doesn’t do that really shows through.

@DComicTalks @TheresaCampagna Ugh, no... You know, for all your shit information, you can easily look up that whatever "success" WB had didn't amount to shit, because like the other person said, they are heavily in debt.

@TheresaCampagna If WB is bought by paramount it gets ripped apart and the history is gone! It’s getting sold because they have rebuilt the studio and last year it was such a incredible recovery that everyone wanted a slice

@LG101400 @TomMCJL Well, I did. In fact, after seeing the Odyssey, and don't get me wrong, it was great, but in some ways 300 was more entertaining.

@CaixaG5969 @marias_library Ancient Greeks were Mediterranean people. Dark hair, dark eyes, tan to brownish skin. An easier way to describe them is looking middle eastern. The reason why modern Greeks don't speak the same language or look the same is because their civilization became diluted.

Ben Shapiro called Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” a “masterpiece” despite the conservative outrage about the film's cast and historical accuracy: “Nolan is unparalleled. He’s the best director working today, without a doubt. He just creates iconic movie after iconic movie.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

@ActwithAlison What was the first horror movie you've seen that just blew your mind? Mine was the Exorcist. For me, it wasn't just a movie; it felt like I was experiencing something that occured in real life, and sadly, it's never happened again. Well, that way it'll remain something special.

Paintings darken as they age. What you showed is not what the painting looked like when it was first painted. Many old paintings darken or yellow as they age. This is a common issue in art conservation, primarily due to the natural aging of materials rather than the paint itself fading in most cases. johncanningco.com Main Reasons • Varnish yellowing/darkening: Traditional varnishes (like natural resins) oxidize over time, turning yellow or brown. This creates a tinted filter over the colors, muting vibrancy and making the whole painting look darker. americanart.si.edu • Dirt, grime, and soot: Dust, smoke, and pollutants accumulate on the surface. • Pigment changes: Some pigments (e.g., certain yellows or lead-based whites) can darken or alter chemically with light, air, or moisture exposure. reddit.com • Oil binder oxidation: In oil paintings, the drying oil can yellow slightly. Professional conservators often remove old varnish and grime, revealing much brighter original colors. New protective varnish is then applied. fineart-restoration.co.uk Visual Examples Here are real before-and-after restorations showing how dramatically darkened paintings can transform: Left: Darkened by aged varnish and grime. Right: After cleaning—colors and details restored. Portrait with heavily yellowed varnish (left) vs. after removal (right), showing clearer skin tones and fabrics. Modern example of discolored portrait (left) restored to original vibrancy (right). Older portrait with darkened background and tones (left) vs. cleaned version (right). These examples illustrate why museums periodically clean masterpieces—the “dark and moody” look of many Old Masters is often partly an unintended effect of time, not always the artist’s original intent. Some intentional dark styles exist (e.g., chiaroscuro or Romantic “Black Paintings”), but aging exacerbates it across many works. splendidfredmagazine.com

Ben Shapiro defends Lupita Nyong'o being cast in The Odyssey as Helen of Troy on the grounds "Greeks aren't white": “If you want to make the case everybody needs to be Greek to be authentic, I think you can make that case. If you want to make the case everybody has to be white, I think that that is a lesser case, because white people and Greek are not quite the same thing.” Do you agree with him?
