@DemonQueensSon @AP Hasn’t the church done that already or are you simply using the child sex abuse scandals as an excuse to cudgel the Church with?
English

@AP Another apology tour? I wonder if he'll apologize for the child rape?

@TheGriftReport To be fair, 3 (presumably large?) glasses of wine, is quite a lot imho. 🤷🏻♂️

Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett brutally mocked after admitting a couple of glasses of wine “ruined his life for three days.”
The 36-year-old entrepreneur, sober for a full year, revealed on his Diary of a CEO podcast with Chris Williamson that even though he didn’t get drunk, the alcohol triggered a hidden domino effect.
He said it wrecked his sleep, messed up his dopamine and cortisol, led to poorer eating the next day, ruined two podcast recordings and meant he skipped the gym for two days running.
Bartlett, who quit drinking completely after his WHOOP fitness tracker showed his heart-rate variability crashing from around 150 to just 40, added: “These three glasses of wine had this hidden domino effect that I must’ve been living with my whole life.”
The viral clip has sparked savage online backlash, with many trolls calling it “ridiculous” and saying “Men used to go to war, now a glass of wine ruins their next 3 days.”
Another said: “You missed multiple days of the gym because you had three glasses of wine? Sounds like a skill issue.”
Meanwhile, some viewers agreed with Steven. One said: “He’s right you know. Alcohol is poison and as you get older it’s harder for us to process it.”
Thoughts?

@BreeSolstad I have seen the servers of the Eucharist bless people if their arms were crossed. I'm new but it appeared inappropriate.

Cute but nuns should not lay hands on someone’s head during prayer.
Nuns are consecrated religious women but not ordained clergy. The laying of hands on the head is a priestly/sacramental sign reserved for ordained ministers.

Dope that the nuns showed up for the Spurs game tonight and that Luke Kornet prayed with them

@calvinrobinson DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT pray for me or anyone else. You don't have my consent.

You do not fall into lust simply because you are “weak.” Most people never stop to ask what they are feeding every day.
Saint Francis of Assisi was not born a saint. Francis of Assisi grew up in Assisi, Italy, as the son of a wealthy cloth merchant. In his younger years, he cared about status, nice clothing, parties, and the praise of other people. He chased comfort and pleasure like many people still do today.
After a deep conversion to Christ, Francis gave up his wealth and began living a life of prayer, penance, and poverty. But becoming close to God did not remove every temptation from his life.
Early biographies written by men like Thomas of Celano describe Francis taking temptation seriously and practicing strong bodily discipline. One account says that during a severe temptation against purity, he threw himself into the snow and made snow figures while praying until the temptation passed. The exact details are difficult to fully verify centuries later, but the story has been repeated in Catholic tradition because of the lesson behind it: Francis did not treat temptation casually.
He fought it.
The Catholic Church teaches that temptation itself is not a sin. Even the saints were tempted. Sin begins when we willingly entertain it and choose it. Francis understood that if you constantly feed your flesh, your thoughts, your eyes, and your habits, your desires will eventually control you.
Over time, prayer, sacrifice, confession, and grace changed his heart. The same man who once lived for himself became a man so united to Christ that near the end of his life he received the stigmata, the wounds associated with Christ’s Passion.
Most people want freedom from sin without changing what keeps leading them back to it.
What is one habit in your daily life that makes temptation stronger instead of weaker?

@graziacarlos @ecom_cork What a stupid and ridiculous take. So a woman deliberately over-sexualises herself by wearing sprayed on gym pants, gets called out by both men and women but yet it’s the man’s fault for commenting on it? I suggest you sit down and have a word with yourself.
English

@ecom_cork Do you know what we should leave behind…..
Men thinking they can tell woman what they should or shouldn’t wear
English

I know it’s 2026 and women are supposed to do what ever they want but the gym outfits are out of control.
Some of these women literally wearing a bra and 3 inch compression shorts.
It’s over revealing and it’s not dignified.
And it’s honestly not even that attractive compared to tasteful cleavage.
It feels like an over share that nobody asked for and it also normalizes a culture of immodesty.
Leave it behind.
