@Schoolofsurg @ASiTofficial @bota_uk A lot depends on how training is delivered as this varies from region to region(i know it shouldn’t, but it does) Also fellowship is a good time to consider sub specialising. Personally i went straight from ST8 to D1 consultant but had very supportive( and patient!!) colleagues

Do surgical curricula deliver a day 1 consultant or do new CCT holders find they need to do a fellowship? If so, why? To meet person spec of cons job or to gain confidence or other? If there is a gap, which specialties is it widest in? @ASiTofficial @bota_uk
