Having visitors over this festive season? Some tips if they happen to arrive by car: 1. Insist they park on the street or in your driveway. Not nose in driveway and body of car on footpath. 2. No need to stick 2 wheels on the path or grass verge, 4 wheels on road will do. contd

Gardai are worse than useless. It would be better to just change the law to make damage to a vehicle legal if that vehicle is illegally parked.

@TSratz All this because you think people shouldn't have to walk between 2-5 minutes from their parking space to training.

Happy this day again! Sure the last thing the coaches and parents could do is walk 5 minutes from a safe legal parking space to the field. Sure the coaches drive up the path all the way up to the clubhouse 🤣🤣🤣 I've seen ye play lads, could definitely do with the exercise!

Happy Rosemount Mulvey FC local club of parents who drive and park on the actual field Day. A lovely day to park 5 minutes walk away so that the public green is not turned into a car park for half the weekend.

@terribly_nice @GardaTraffic It's laziness. There are loading bays in all 4 directions within 50 metres. These lazy clowns park up on footpaths to eat their lunch or go into the shop to get a coffee. Your 10k claim - any evidence for this or just some rubbish you read in the Mirror?

Some people want the council to literally sort out every problem in their life. No legal parking space right outside where you're going? Council. Didn't bring bags for your dog's shit? Council's problem, not mine. Nobody in the community arsed to cut the grass? Council!

@TSratz No problem with people driving their kids to football training. There's just no need to park the car right on the sidelines or on the local footpaths. It's possible to just park 5 minutes walk away like a normal member of society.

@TSratz Ok the council should CPO 33,34 and 34A and build a multistorey car park so that people don't have to move their legs for 5 minutes to go to football training. Some people would stop wiping their own arse if they thought the council might do it for them.

@AccessForAll7 It's for a pedestrianised area the size of temple bar. Cars in pedestrianised areas are a danger to everyone, no matter who is driving them.

The more we watch the #UK and their policies around disabilities and inclusion the more we feel that it is a country that does not want to include PWD in society. Imagine permanently removing ♿️ parking from 10:30-5pm Daily and then start a consultation to push it out to 7pm.🤬🤬
York Disability Rights Forum@YorkDRF

Exec voted to make the blue badge exclusion 10.30 to 5 permanent, to extend that till 7pm till September 2022, and in the meantime start consultation around making the 5-7 exclusion permanent as well. What I take from this is, York is not welcoming for disabled people.

@pearseahern Even when they leave 2 wheels on the path, they are narrowing the path for everyone. Lined up on a whole street it means that people walking or wheeling can't go side by side. It also affects visually impaired people who use the kerb as a navigation tool.

Gary is supposed to be a disability activist, representing people with reduced mobility on the Council's Transport Committee. Telling someone who was just physically injured and now experiencing reduced mobility to "hobble on" is disgusting.

This inflammatory, ableist comment is abhorrent. It shows complete disdain for people who have lost their loved ones or had their lives permanently altered by unsafe roads and driving. It is entirely unacceptable from someone tasked with representing disability issues on DCC.

@GaryJk64 @DisabilityFed Hopefully, you will not be allowed anywhere near this forum. You condone cars being driven and parked on footpaths and violence against people cycling legally. You celebrated when a man on a bike was put in hospital by an SUV driver. I couldn't think of anyone less suitable.
