How to stay safe and warm if you lose power due to the Nor’easter: - Stay inside - Open blinds or curtains during the day and use the sun’s heat to warm your home - Close vents and doors in unoccupied rooms to keep heat from escaping #power" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ready.gov/winter-ready#p

Heavy snow and strong wind gusts are making it dangerous to be on the roads statewide — but especially on the South Coast, Cape and Islands. For that reason, a ban on non-essential travel is now in effect in Bristol, Plymouth, Barnstable, and Dukes counties.

[High Impact Winter Storm] A major winter storm will bring heavy snow with blizzard conditions and power outages possible. High confidence in 10 to 20 inches of snow across eastern MA/RI, but more uncertainty across western MA/CT dependent on the western extent of heavy snow.

MEMA is actively monitoring the nor'easter and is prepared to take necessary steps to ensure the Cape and Islands have the resources necessary to stay safe before, during, and after the storm. In addition, it's going to be extremely cold tonight and tomorrow, so bundle up, take precautions with heating sources, and call 2-1-1 if you need to find a warming center.
NWS Boston@NWSBoston

[Sunday Storm] Our coastal storm on Sunday has trended further offshore which will limit the impact for southern New England. The best chance of some appreciable snow is Nantucket, with Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard a close second. Winds will be gusting 30-50 mph.
