Starlink has committed to a R500 million investment to connect 5,000 rural schools with free, high-speed internet, benefiting more than 2.4 million learners each year. But it is still on hold. Why? Because South African regulations require 30% local Black ownership for telecom licenses. South African farmers and rural communities are asking the government to approve Starlink. In many remote areas, there is no internet access at all, and people have to drive several kilometers just to get basic connectivity. The South African government is the enemy of its own people.

BREAKING: Motorists travelling between Rustenburg and Pretoria are informed that N4 is completely closed. This follows an accident involving a truck carrying fuel and a cash in transit van which both burst into flames. Four lives have so far been lost in an accident just outside Rustenburg near Kroondal. Motorists are advised to use R104. @NWPGCommSafety officers are there to guide traffic. More details will follow later. @TrafficSA @SANRAL_za @_ArriveAlive
