The momentum to finally “ditch the switch” is growing. Last week, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced my provision to make Daylight Saving Time permanent year-round, moving this commonsense reform one step closer to becoming law. Americans are tired of the disruptive and outdated twice-yearly clock change, and it’s time Congress acts. Permanent Daylight Saving Time would provide brighter evenings, promote outdoor activity, support local businesses and tourism, and help families avoid the unnecessary disruption caused by changing the clocks twice every year. Floridians have led the charge on this issue for years, and I’m proud to continue fighting to end the biannual clock change once and for all. msn.com/en-us/news/pol…

People are not getting this. In January, most of the country gets roughly 9–10 hours of daylight no matter what we call the clock. Example: STANDARD TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~7:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~5:00 PM PERMANENT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~8:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~6:00 PM That is the SAME amount of daylight. You did not gain sunlight. You just moved the clock one hour later and created darker mornings in winter. The sun doesn’t change. The clock does

Nothing says, “I hate you, and don’t give a rat’s rear what the majority wants” quite like the government - specifically the fool, @SenRickScott. @POTUS, sir, please don’t listen to Senate idiots. @SecKennedy

Bringing this up on the radio today - the debate over Daylight Savings Time (DST) vs Standard Time vs do nothing. What do you think? Vote and comment!

President Trump has indicated he could sign a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered. You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.
