@Dirty71592 @Civixplorer It's not the Alps, but South Australia has some decent mountain ranges, great vineyards and the Adelaide Hills are picturesque, especially this time of year.

One thing I'll give to Arteta is the fact he's actually kept us in this title race with a lot of bang average players + injuries to key ones.

@GunnersGalactic @BodegaaCat For years I've been seeing Arteta stans on Twitter and Reddit boasting about how they have endless amounts of "receipts" from "doomers" saved and screenshotted that they're going to unleash the following May. You'd think they would have learned by now.

@ThurgzFTBL @chefsito_01 @MoArsenal86 I do, but if we fourpeat 2nd (never done in footballing history) and Arteta keeps his job, the fallout would be so big that Xhaka getting booed will pale in comparison to the vitriol our fans will be spewing (and rightly so)

@Dylan_OCE @chefsito_01 @MoArsenal86 Fair enough. There has been frustration.. 100% but nowhere near what we’ve seen in years gone by. Not sure if you remember Xhaka (Whilst captain) being boo’d off the pitch?

@A_Jaywalker @PoznanInMyPants The Real Madrid fans who boo after one loss are ridiculed because everyone knows they'll still probably win a trophy by the end of the season. Different to Arsenal fans despairing over a run of dropped points & cup exits knowing full well that it'll ultimately decide the season.

@PoznanInMyPants And this year every loss has been painful. When I take a backseat and analyze our online fandom, I feel they are pretty entitled on average. Like, I always chuckle when Real Madrid fans boo their team for losing like 1/2 games sometimes. Aren't 'the idiots' doing the same online?

@ThurgzFTBL @chefsito_01 @MoArsenal86 It's already getting toxic at the stadium again. If we actually throw away the title again, it'll get really ugly. Even worse than late Wenger and Emery's tenure.

@chefsito_01 @MoArsenal86 When was the last time you went to a game? Not a shot, a genuine question. Before Arteta & it was TOXIC. (We boo’d our captain off the pitch vs Aston Villa). The atmosphere & feel around the ground is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT now. There is genuine belief.

@OllieArsenalFC @prettyboygooner I don't think it's ever happened in any league, at least not any top flight European league. This is genuinely unprecedented terrain that Arteta's dragged this club into. Sick of this "beautiful" project.

Arteta has been talking about games being decided in the boxes for years now. Arsenal spent a lot of money in the summer. The issues haven’t exactly been resolved. His negligence in running players into the ground and not giving them adequate rest when the opportunity comes is comfortably his biggest flaw in my opinion. Timber and Zubimendi touching the field against Portsmouth. Saka against Mansfield. Why? Sign adequate players to come in for your stars and you won’t arrive in April without your best players who are injured because they’ve been flogged. It has happened every single season since he got here. Man City were struggling then went and took two of the best players in the league and now look at them. He has to learn for next year regardless of what happens this campaign.

Arteta: “We came here to win the game. I think the message was clear from three days before. We prepared to do that, to take the game to the areas that we believed we could win it. We certainly did that, even though we started the game with a goal down and psychologically we had to play with that. We've done it. “So we proved that we are there, but the reality is in the two boxes today was a difference and that's what decided the game. The styles have been different for the profile of players that we have available as well in certain areas, but the difference was 100 per cent, yes.”

No matter how Arsenal’s season ends, Arteta has worked near-miracles. This squad has no business being here when you look at that attack, it’s not even top 10 in the league. Zubimendi hasn’t moved the needle and Rice has his own limitations.

@ondrejhajek0 @dee4life2137 @YankeeGunner Fluke goal off of a Donnarumma howler. Means nothing if he can't score when it actually matters. FA and EFL Cup disasterclasses last season showed he's not that guy, today proved it beyond reasonable doubt.

@afcjxmes Agree with pretty much everything, but why do you think that Arteta will switch things up if this proves to be a winning formula, instead of just doubling down?

I’ve been thinking about this and it comes down to a managerial philosophy issue. Arteta’s ‘defence first’ principles basically mean: a.) We don’t sign a certain profile of player that is needed to unlock games and (importantly right now) deal with high-pressure situations. We wouldn’t go near mavericks like Vini, Cherki, Olise, etc because they don’t defend like their life is on the line. As a result you get a load of workhorse attackers who aren’t willing to take risks and lose the ball 9 times out of 10 for the 1 time it comes off. b.) Players end up so hyper-fixated on OOP work that by the time they’re in positions to go 1-vs-1 they’ve already expended themselves physically and mentally. Consider how Klopp spoke about Salah’s defensive requirements (or lack thereof) during his final season. The results are clear to see. Ultimately if it gets us over the line then none of this matters. The issue is that when you play this way you start to lose home advantage and the margins that are needed to get these things over the line. I’ve said for a while that if we win this season Arteta’s philosophy will change but for now we’re clearly trying to limp over the line as we are. I just really hope it pays off because fans’ patience is wearing very thin.
