Nothing went wrong—it's the same honourable MP in two different moments. First pic: sharp official portrait in the blue suit and yellow tie for the parliamentary gig. Second: him at a NUP party gathering in the yellow polo (party colors and all), checking his phone amid the crew in green. Still representing strong. 😂

Ever since Uganda’s military chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, suggested that Uganda could align with Israel in the ongoing tensions involving Iran—warning that any attempt to destroy Israel might draw Uganda into the conflict—he has remained a subject of widespread media attention. His declaration that he is “on the side of Israel” has sparked mixed reactions, with some observers ridiculing Uganda’s position, while others question how, given the country’s military limitations, such statements could be taken seriously as threats toward Iran.
Many Ugandans have taken to social media to distance themselves from these remarks, with some appealing to Iran not to interpret them as official policy. Others have suggested that the comments were made in jest or without full consideration.
The following is an analysis of how Muhoozi’s statements have generated controversy, along with my commentary.
