Training Info: - Looks like Kako, Farrow & Gresham will come into the named squad tonight. - We probably take 2 emergencies over to Adelaide with the VFL to play on Friday night - Prior might be the one left out for Kako - Rids moved really well, should be back playing next week

@PHX_ESS_RM how else do you earn selection?

@EFCTrackWatcher There’s a problem when we think performing well in the pre-season and playing well in the VFL is good enough to earn a selection for an AFL game.

@pebblemonkeyz I think a bit of both would be good. Learn a new role, experience the top level, but if not finding enough of it, no issue going back the VFL for a few games.

@EFCTrackWatcher Do you think Sharp would get more development playing as a full time mid in the VFL or do you think he’s better off on a forward flank in the AFL getting 50% game time and 6 touches?

@PHX_ESS_RM To be fair he had a really good pre-season. He has been made to earn it, so if he keeps playing well in the VFL he deserves a go.

@EFCTrackWatcher I said before the season that if Gresham played AFL, it would mean either heaps of injuries or the season heading in the wrong direction. Here we are and he might be getting a game in Round 2, just because he had a good game against VFL players.

@pebblemonkeyz Would be stupid to drop kids after their first game. We are developing this year not trying to win the flag.

@EFCTrackWatcher These are the moves that should be happening. If BS goes with 4 key tall forwards again then they should sack him and let the next guy have a go at team selection

@ooi_eujin Don't see them dropping a kid after one game, can't remember Scott ever doing that

@maltburger85 Don't think we are dropping a mid so Tsatas just has to wait for now, but is pushing. Vigo is a bit off the pace to start the season IMO

@SteveM_ac It's looking that way. His inability to play in another position is limiting his opportunity at senior level. Sharp has over taken him as he can also play forward

Fiorini didn't train but still likely to play, feeling is Kako will just miss. Archer May firming to play off the bench as a tall fwd rotation. I've got Saad or Perkins for the final spot in the team. Gresh, Guelfi and Tsatas to miss.

Training notes - Kako completed a solo session, moved well, just needs to tick off high end speed next week to be up for selection. Jones, Cox and Perkins did 30min but went off as they will play VFL tomorrow. Bourke, Unwin and Rids running laps. Skills were very good today.
