@EGOAggregation oh yeah there's definitely plenty of time for everyone to unwind afterwards. usually if someone has a particularly rough switch, the rest of us push them to go get a nice treat and relax for the rest of the day instead of stressing

this is killing me because you're lowkey just describing the diagnostic criteria for the disorder. yes, when i'm very stressed, i often switch and someone who is calmer or more well-equipped to handle things fronts instead, in order to minimize how much trauma hurts us.

its original intent was advice for people who engaged in self-destructive people-pleasing behaviors, and it honestly wasn’t bad advice for those types.
nowadays, people use it to justify avoiding basic acts of kindness and helping each other out.
