Canary in the coal mine? My wife and I went to the Toronto Home Show on Friday (we always get free tickets from a friend). We always enjoy the displays and ideas and even made a major purchase a few years ago. What I saw this year really concerned me. While still very large, the show is a shell of what it was in years past. It used to spill over multiple halls and buildings, but this year it was confined to the core Enercare Centre. More concerning was the selection and quality of the vendors. There were far less home related vendors with space being filled by trinket and food vendors. We've all seen the massive slowdown in the real estate market but it now seems to be trickling down to the renovation and home upgrade markets as well. After 10 years of @liberal_party government mismanagement of our economy, this year's Home Show is a major warning sign of just how bad things are.

If you look at history and observe the landscape of a Marxist regime you will find that we aren't actually in a Marxist regime in the true sense. We have many remaining freedoms that do not exist in true Marxist regimes. You tell me to get real, yet you reply with an untrue defeated position on something you don't seem to understand. The country is moving in that direction but you talk as though we've already arrived.
