As high school students and athletes, never forget that you are much more than your times in a race or your points in a basketball game, your GPA or your AP scores, and you are much more than the number of notifications you get on your phone. Be kind & value relationships.

Don’t be the player who is too cool to go hard. Whether in a workout or a game, 100% is the bare minimum. Cool has no place in the game. Cool won’t impress anyone, won’t get you more playing time, won’t ever get you better. Cool will keep you on the bench. Cool will get you beat!

"The best teammates that I ever had - they showed up to work every day. I never had to worry about their effort or their attitude." Eventually, what you choose to do becomes more important than what you are capable of doing.

PARENTS: There are very few things that you can say from the bleachers that will ever make your child play better. Just sit back and enjoy the game, cheer for your child, cheer for the team, and take it all in! It will be much more enjoyable for you and your child.

I’ve entered the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining

This Sunday @mads_egan graduates with her masters degree. She played 5 years of D1 tennis with a 3.75 gpa or higher every semester n finished strong, didn't burn out, n never ONCE got injured! I believe being a multi-sport athlete with balance growing up helped accomplish this!

Tonight on @KING5Sports @KING5Seattle at 5, 9, and 10 meet one of the most talented high school athletes in the state, Jaicieonna Gero-Holt !!! The 6-time @wiaawa state champ will go for four more titles this week and then it's time to prep for the US Olympic trials.

With school, we often ask why do I need to learn X...I'm never going to use that. But we miss the point. School is like sports training: The general sets the stage for the specific. We've got to build capacity, before we exploit and refine our skills.
