♻️ Can we truly realize a sustainable value chain? The path to a #circularbioeconomy isn't just about technology—it’s about accountability, social acceptance, and robust certification. At hashtag#EUBCE2026, Plenary Session AP.1 will dive deep into these critical pillars. Chaired by Heinz Ossenbrink (Former Head of Unit, European Commission JRC), this session will together three vital perspectives on global #sustainability: 🌍 Measuring Global Impact: Birka Wicke (Radboud University) will explore the EU-27's environmental footprint, proving that addressing impacts beyond our borders is non-negotiable for a truly sustainable bioeconomy. 🤝 The Social Factor: Yara Evans (Imperial College London) shares lessons from the ABATE and BioMates projects demonstrating that linking social insights with technological development promotes socially sustainable innovation aligned with environmental goals and public expectations within the European bioeconomy. 📑 Policy & Certification: Blanca De Ulibarri (The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB)) will introduce the CARINA project, highlighting how low #iLUC-risk feedstocks like camelina can scale through innovative cropping and carbon farming frameworks. Join us to discuss how we move from theory to a verified, socially supported, and global value chain. 📅 Date: Tuesday, 19 May 🕒 Time: 13:45 – 14:45 📍 Session: AP.1 – Realising Sustainable Value Chain 🔗 Register now! lnkd.in/ge79rfNF 📖 Programme: lnkd.in/dc9WGr4N
