MYANMAR: The attack on a hospital in Rakhine by the Myanmar military regime is a violation of International Humanitarian Law. Civilians, the wounded, and medical staff must be protected in all circumstances. We express our solidarity with the victims and their families.

On the occasion of the #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty, the EU and the @coe call for a legal moratorium on the death penalty in all those countries that have not joined the worldwide trend toward abolition of the capital punishment, including #Myanmar

Myanmar: junta airstrikes in Sagaing killed over 40 people, incl. civilians and children, who gathered for the Buddhist Festival of Light. This is another attack by the Myanmar military against those it claims to protect. Civilians must never be a target. The killing must end.

I just spoke with my colleagues in @EUDelegationUA in Kyiv, after our building was damaged by a Russian strike. Your resolve to keep supporting Ukraine gives us strength. No diplomatic mission should ever be a target. In response, we are summoning the Russian envoy in Brussels.

Get to know more about how the EU is ensuring delivery of life-saving aid to countries affected by disasters, including Myanmar. With the launch of the EU HAB (Humanitarian Air Bridge) flights, critical supplies have been landing in Myanmar. Since 2nd April, 14 flights have arrived carrying over 708 tonnes of emergency aid. Through our trusted humanitarian partners on the ground, the aid is distributed to the most vulnerable communities. Myanmar: We are horrified over reports of a massacre in a village school in Sagaing yesterday. Perpetrators must be held accountable for this atrocity.  Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, most of them children.

A month after the devastating Myanmar earthquake, the EU continues to support the communities affected. This week, another two humanitarian air bridge flights ✈️ landed in Yangon with 147 tonnes of vital supplies from @Refugees and @UNmigration.

The European Union continues to provide humanitarian assistance to earthquake-hit #Myanmar. It has supported further flights to deliver 70.000 life saving relief items, which will be dispatched through @IOMatEU and its partners to the communities most in need. @ECHO_Asia #EUinMyanmar #MyanmarEarthquake

Since the earthquake in #Myanmar, the EU has sent 7 humanitarian flights, delivering over 380 metric tonnes of shelter materials, water purification tabs, medical supplies and other life-saving essentials. ✈️
