NEWS: Greggs to open in Tenerife with first ever branch outside of the UK

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

The Guardian has released a statement after Nigel Farage posted a photo of one of their photographers' press passes, implying that a photojournalist threatened his safety: "The Guardian is concerned by the recent publication on Nigel Farage’s social media pages of the professional credentials of a photographer working on behalf of the Guardian while he was working lawfully in a public space. Holding public figures to account is the role of a free press. "As part of the Guardian’s journalism covering Nigel Farage’s purchase of a £1.4m property in cash shortly after receiving a £5m personal gift, a photographer took pictures from a public path and showed his press card when asked to identify himself." theguardian.com/gnm-press-offi…

So Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan reportedly met senior Met Police officials this morning ahead of tomorrow’s Tommy Robinson rally. A lot of people are now asking an obvious question: Why are politicians holding meetings with police chiefs right before a major political demonstration? The police are supposed to be completely impartial and independent from political pressure. At a time when trust in institutions is already collapsing, optics like this only fuel even more suspicion and division. There is a stitch up happening that is plainly clear and evident. In a democracy, you don’t protect free speech by only allowing opinions the government agrees with.

Trevor Phillips attended the previous 'Unite the Kingdom' rally. Keir Starmer ought to have watched this video before releasing his own.

Prosecutors have been issued new legal guidance on the use of offensive banners, slogans, chants or symbols to recognise the changing context and increase in increase in hate crime attacks ahead of significant planned protests in London this weekend. orlo.uk/z2Tcn

All this talk of Britain being ‘finished’ or that our country has fallen… We’ve been ‘finished’ again and again through our long history, and time again and again we’ve shocked the world by getting back up. That’s what we do. We get up. Our people are worth standing for!

Redbridge Imam Jailed for Life Over Sex Attacks On Seven Women. In a case that has left the community horrified, former Redbridge imam Abdul Halim Khan, 54, has today been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years for a calculated campaign of rape and sexual abuse against seven vulnerable women and girls in east London. Khan was convicted last month at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 21 counts, including multiple rapes, sexual assaults and child sexual offences. Three of his victims were vulnerable teenage girls, one just 12 years old at the time. Khan a devoted religion of peace subscriber used his respected position as an imam at a Redbridge mosque to befriend and groom his targets, building trust before luring them to isolated flats where he carried out his depravity. In a shocking detail that defies belief, Khan spun terrifying supernatural lies, claiming he was possessed by a Jinn and insisting that only through forced sexual acts could he protect the victims and their families from black magic, curses or supernatural harm. Prosecutors described how this wolf in religious clothing coerced and deceived his victims into believing these non-consensual horrors were necessary spiritual rituals. CPS prosecutor Melissa Garner: "Abdul Halim Khan, a former imam, abused his position of trust and authority to carry out a vicious series of rapes and sexual abuses against seven victims including three vulnerable teenage girls. Khan coerced and deceived them into thinking that he possessed supernatural powers which could protect them and their families from harm in exchange for hideous acts of sexual abuse without their consent." The brave victims, all from the local Muslim community, came forward years after the offences despite enormous cultural pressures around family honour, fear of ostracism and stigma. Despite the shocking nature of the crimes, there has been little public condemnation or visible outrage from local mosques and community leaders. This life sentence is the right outcome for such evil. It serves as a reminder that no one, no matter how respected their position, is above the law, and that victims must be supported to speak out. #UKNews #CrimeNews #Redbridge #London
