@shannon_h Some of the counties (not Sarasota) have BOTH wide power outages AND boil water notices. From experience during Storm Uri, can be a deadly situation depending on surrounding conditions & if generators fail. Sent u an email w/ data.

I called SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL and was told they are not evacuating, but will move people to a different floor if need be.

They wouldn't confirm if they were evacuating ahead of the storm or waiting. (3/)

@MaryHeglar The intersection of food deserts, transportation, healthcare and news deserts is all by design. In Austin what started with the 1928 Master Plan has been reinforced over time by community disinvestments followed by displacement, followed by "affordable" housing that isn't.

@MaryHeglar We have some policies to counteract this, but other policies causing more and newer harm at the local and state level. Racism and environmental harm are not just connected at the impact level, they are connected in the design, and the root causes.

@HKronberg Harvey, can you please clarify whether you are referring to scheduled rolling blackouts, days-long intended blackouts, or system shutdown? But really, it's a spectrum, correct? Like if one mechanism doesn't work, then it progresses...? So nothing is off the table? Any insight?
