@shubhamkagrawa @NARAYANRAO12 @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai Kannada is compulsory in Karnataka, similarly Hindi will be compulsory in hindi states if they want their son to learn Hindi they should move to hindi states . If I want to learn Kannada can I learn it in any North Indian schools Today No then why should few get the favor

@EarthlingsBoomi @NARAYANRAO12 @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai just mother tongue and english wont work. A hindi speaking family in bangalore would want their son to learn hindi and english , and will skip kannada all together. But if you mandate a third language, they will pick kannada.

@shubhamkagrawa @NARAYANRAO12 @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai Yeah that people will learn if they want to and if your logic is learning language to learn culture then why learn only one extra language we should learn all indian languages 🤗 We need one common language and that is English rest all should be optional

@EarthlingsBoomi @NARAYANRAO12 @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai Cause languages help understand culture. The entire fight is about preserving culture isnt it ? I for eg want to learn marathi and punjabi now cause the culture and the art interests me. Tomorrow i might want to learn Tamil.

This is why we in Tamil Nadu will always have more in common with countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka than north India. I’d definitely feel more culture shock in Hindia than in those countries.

@Hemdharpan If no language is mandatory then what is the point of learning 3 languages 🤔 2 language mother tongue and English works well if people needed they will learn any languages. Why force ppl to learn 3 languages.

@EarthlingsBoomi Read the embedded tweets! Tired of explaining why multilingualism helps kids & why my opinion isn’t about favouring Hindi as 3rd, rather it can be any lang!
Hemdharpan/ಹೇಮ್ ಧರ್ಪಣ್@Hemdharpan

@fitness_kannada There is always an 'ass' in assuming! Don't construe the things which haven't been told! Also who is 'we' here? U don't want ≠ All Kannadigas Let's not debate on nationalism when the self proclaimed ‘lang proctectors’ just spew hate on other languages, reeking with insecurity!

Now u are talking. There are structural inadequacies—infra, low teacher-student ratio, funding, low talent pool. So instead of fixing that, govt’s outright ‘ban’ solution is stupid—easy. The responsibility of fixing such inadequacies lie with govts. Ppl should ask right Questions
bhoomiputra@EarthlingsBoomi

@Hemdharpan That's simply because there is no choice for other languages in many schools 🤗 this is what other and in particular TN govt is complaining about if there is no infrastructure provided for other languages eventually Hindi becomes the default

@EarthlingsBoomi @anjusabu Lol, u know nothing about Malaysia. U probably read some political opinions, and obv Malaysian politics is a mess. But no Malaysians even love wearing gold or tryna show off their wealth. Indians here are on average richer than the majority Muslim population, thanks to the Tamils

@NARAYANRAO12 @EarthlingsBoomi @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai Ideally the three languages should be: 1. medium of education 2. State local language (or a second language choice) 3. 3rd language choice. No language should be mandatory. (except ofcourse the medium of education)

@EarthlingsBoomi @DeKoderAI @ptrmadurai Central govt has responsibility to administrate whole of India with people speaking different languges. A single language, an Indian language Hindi spoken in many states is the obvious choice. Its cheap & stupid political ploy by DMK who for 70 yrs couldn't cross Gummudipoondi.

Exactly, southern languages (Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam) are over 80% Sanskrit, the remaining is its derivative Prakrit. There is nothing much of a language left once you takeoff Sanskrit out of Kannada/Telugu/Malayalam. Malayalam is actually 90 Sanskrit- it was called necklace of gems arranged (Manipravalam) with Sanskrit. Anybody that believes these artificial colonialist theories is brainwashed.
Sameer Rao@CivitasSameer

Literally the oldest Kannada text, Kavirajamarga which is a manual on how to compose poems lays out the rules of mixing Sanskrit and Kannada. While excesses are obviously cautioned, it is also said that Kannada forms a golden necklace upon which Sanskrit words are systematically attached like rubies, to create the beautiful ornament of poetry. Sanskrit and Kannada are partner languages that have fused so well, it honestly makes a case for effortless integration of both. Here is a detailed thread about Kavirajamarga with the actual verses; x.com/CivitasSameer/…

What is the meaning of മേരാ ബൂത്ത് സബ്സേ മജ്ബൂത് (Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot) in Malayalam? I used Google Translate and found that BJP is writing Hindi sentences in Malayalam script for its election campaign in Kerala as part of IMPOSING Hindi on Malayalis #StopHindiImposition

@umasudhir @ptrmadurai Because Hindi is understood by almost all of the 2 billion+ people in South Asia and almost all workers in the Middle East. In Turkey and Iran, India was called Hindistan for thousands of years. Even a Tamilian, Kannadiga, Malayali or Asaamese were called HINDIstani.
