Survey team confirmed an EF1 tornado near Frederica, DE (Kent County) with max winds to 100 mph. Additional extensive wind damage near Camden, DE remains under review. Full details are expected to be released on Wednesday. #DEwx

Survey team confirmed an EF1 tornado in Ridgely MD (Caroline County) with max winds to 100 mph. In addition, an extensive area of straight-line winds confirmed between Sudlersville & Millington MD (Queen Anne's County) with winds between 70-90 mph. Details this evening. #mdwx

This winds in DELCO must be pretty strong

Running into wind gust damage across Wilmington. Downed trees, downed tree limbs, and what looked like a downed power pole. Here's a look at the damage from that strong kind of storms:

The Tornado Watch is no longer in effect. Please continue to stay weather aware, especially for the potential for damaging winds later tonight with the passage of the cold front.

@EasternChaser For what area? I think Virginia is done after this line goes through. The rain in Roanoke is a big nothing burger.

Today’s event isn’t over yet, but I would just say the following note: It can be tough to get “clean” discrete warm sector supercell thunderstorms without decent capping, decent instability, and/or only subtle forcing.
