Fable 5 is a revolutionary model. I just don't understand how it survives. When my usage limit ran out, I spent $500 in credits in 4 hours. The pricing is illogical No average person will pay this price. Enterprises won't either. They are already starting to adopt dirt cheap Chinese models in order to save on costs. GPT 5.6 is not quite as smart as Fable in some ways, but at least it's a part of the subscription and at least is reasonably priced. With API pricing I just don't know who is the persona Fable is right for. That's why I think Opus 5 comes in the next 2 weeks. With 5.6 being so good, Anthropic needs a competitor that matches its intelligence and pricing. A cheaper version of Fable being labeled Opus and priced at Opus levels is the only way they keep up. If they don't do this, I don't understand how OpenAI doesn't win both the consumer and enterprise markets in the next few weeks

Like the CEO of Palantir Alex said on CNBC it's a data focused schema not a profit/loss one If your company can make 3 million dollars with AI like they promote, why are they not asking for a 30% cut??? Instead they gain more from your data and inside business decisions in so many ways that they can generate hundreds of millions of dollars building products that solves data proven issues and fill market gaps.

We need a coding LLM where I can pay for tokens with an equity of a startup I am building with this LLM.

It's always have been a scam or more like a placebo effect so you think it's coding better, just as well as skills files which basically are more default prompts that you don't need to repeat, like how is this thing should be an AI and still needs skill files and clear and detailed instructions to function efficiently. The marketing behind this bubble is amazing I'm curious how would this thing end.

do you really think telling claude/codex/cursor to “think like a senior engineer” actually makes it think like a senior engineer?

@sama It's a tool more than a replacement stop marketing it as a replacement for working human. It won't be a replacement until there is no entropy but as long there is some entropy it means that its actions are not predicted by 100% 2 inputs 2 different outcomes

so far at least, i'm pretty sure AI has been net job-creating. this was not what i expected--although i was much less pessimistic than others, i thought by this level of capability we'd have seen some impact. it is possible this direction keeps going!

Codex is so good at over engineering. IDK what did the people at OpenAI wrote into it but instead of adding 5 lines to my commit linter as instructed, it decided to rewrite the commitlint tool rules as a plugin like seriously WTF the left is codex and the right it mine now imagine what more unnecessary bullshit does Codex write into your project without you ever noticing

WHATTT!!! i asked codex to write me a simple commitlint conf file and he missed up horribly he went and wrote the rules as a plugin instead of the already built rules that is missed up for me, if it didn't came up with the proper rules from the main tool webpage (even after i prompted him with the URL) then what it's use for me.

It makes me cringe when people talk about AI code as "slop". AI is garbage in garbage out. If your AI code sucks, it means YOU suck as an engineer. You couldn’t even explain what you want to an AI that has been RL’d on millions of similar chats.

Why are we still using GitHub, it's trash, use your code and data to train their AI had so many problems with GitHub actions ( the thread sleep timer loop that I can't get over it) that costed people and companies millions in sever processing bills and yet we still use it. There are alternatives like codeberg which is a cloud hosted version of Forgejo that I personally use and love. It's minimal, easy to use and navigate and has all types of actions that you need to run. You can always go to Gitlabs but I find it overwhelming. Do you know any other code containers?
