I personally don’t consider being gay or trans to be a negative trait, but it’s exceedingly normal to want your child to be able to have children of their own (to say nothing of the very reasonable, although incorrect, moral opposition many people have to sexual deviancy). It is also completely reasonable to want your child to not go to hell. None of this is at all absurd. You might disagree with it for one reason or another, but it’s not something that’s batshit crazy.

PCUSA had a 50% dip in members and a 55% drop in seminarians.
One outlier?
The Southern Baptist Convention.
