The difference between being Critical, and Critical Thinking is that only one has any Relevance down the road at a later date.

@DriveTeslaca The only scenario to be aware of is regenerative breaking when entering a turn. AWD has more speed control, RWD will be dragging the back end. But this is much better than FWD where the back end wants to keep the momentum up into the turn. All other scenarios RWD is great.

Been getting this question A LOT since the $39k Model 3 was announced last night. Let’s hear from other Tesla RWD owners about their experience driving in the snow ❄️ Personally I’ve never had an issue in snow. A good set of snow tires and it’ll outperform many AWD cars.

@DriveTeslaca @elonmusk @tesla_na Be honest with me, I'm trying to narrow down my choice for a new EV. How is the RWD on snow covered roads in the winter?

Timing is everything. Check out these images, taken today, of Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. At 07:29 local time, Gen-3 captured an extreme off-nadir twilight shot of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket on the pad before again catching the vehicle in flight at 10:13, 38 seconds after launch, as it was traveling more than 400 miles per hour. With time-diverse imaging capabilities and flexible imaging modes, Gen-3 sees relevant activity at all hours of the day.

Powering the next giant leap. A novel electromagnetic thruster that runs on lithium metal vapor was successfully fired up for the first time during initial tests at JPL. Fully developed and paired with a nuclear power source, these thrusters could reduce launch mass and support payloads required for human Mars missions.

Once the vehicle rolls off the assembly line, there are still final quality control (QC) checks that need to happen. For new models, often there are rework/repairs that are required due to findings in QC. Once the vehicle has passed QC, logistics come into play. They have to put the vehicle in the yard and schedule transportation. The plant in Normal is located against a freight line and vehicles are loaded onto trains for delivery to delivery locations (service centers). The shipping process can take weeks to transpire. Remember when Rivian launched Gen 2, it was announced in July and deliveries started in August/September. I would think if we were to see R2 "customer" deliveries happening they would be factory pickups in 1 or 2 weeks and the rest of the country would be 4 to 8 weeks out. Here's a photo I took of the rework R1 vehicles at the plant.

@KevinMelnuk @Hilbe Im trying to get an answer from someone who knows better than me. Yesterday RJ/Rivian said deliveries would begin “later this spring”. I dont get it. If customer units are rolling off the assembly line now, then why dont deliveries start now? Like, in the next few days?

@SciGuySpace @StephenFleming But Orion is NASA’s capsule. I could see a day when NASA decides: “ we don’t do launch “ “ we need a high Scientific return (ROI) ” I believe Orion lives on, and the only way they get a high cadence is to buy commercial launch services. They did its for ISS, why not Orion

@StephenFleming Maybe. It depends on how serious Blue Origin gets with its own crew capsule development.

If you want to move through space fast you strap a rocket engine onto something. Riding as a payload in a medium-lift launch vehicle, Helios deploys in LEO then transports cargo to GEO in the span of a single workday. Helios is purpose-built to deliver unprecedented access to high-energy orbits — eliminating the need for a heavy-lift launch or a multi-month electric propulsion orbit raise. Intuitive Machines has been chosen for a fifth mission, IM-5 and I'm seriously pumped about this one because it will be the first time we get to fly our big boy - the mighty NOVA D lander! The earlier NASA awards were all about proving the tech, but IM-5 is a massive leap forward. We’re stepping up with bigger, tougher hardware, teaming up on international payloads  and heading to a prime ridge on Mons Malapert. That spot gives us near-continuous sunlight for power and rock-solid, constant comms with Earth. This isn't just a delivery run; we're scaling up and pushing the envelope to get us closer to a sustained lunar presence.
