Enterprise Zones are not created by Acts of Parliament subject to full parliamentary debate.
They are designated by statutory instrument, secondary legislation, under Schedule 32 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980.
No debate, no public consultation, no notification of the press, this is unbridled corporate fascism capturing the commons, and guess what? You are paying for it with State aid.
This is illegal in the EU, why?
Giving public money to companies for profit motives distorts the integrity and balance of the EU's Single Market.
This is why Brexit was illegally forced through, this is why Keir Starmer says there will be no rejoinig the EU in his lifetime.
The contracts for the UK's 12 freeports and 74 SEZs are 25 years in duration.

Richard Tice lent his own party £1.4 million through a private Mayfair investment company. The Companies House accounts never once named him. Three years running, the auditor signed them off.
We've identified specific discrepancies between the Electoral Commission loans register and the 2023 accounts. A £40,000 loan filed under the wrong reporting period. A £613,000 debt-to-donation conversion that doesn't appear as a post-balance-sheet event in the 2024 filing. A statutory auditor who named Tice in the going concern paragraph but not in the related party note.
We sent right of reply letters to Richard Tice, Reform UK, and their auditors CK Partnership on Wednesday morning. The deadline passed yesterday. None of them responded.
A Freedom of Information request has been submitted to the Electoral Commission seeking the submission history of the anomalous loan entry. Ref: FOI 046-26.

Our beautiful Devon countryside going under concrete… @UKLabour aren’t listening to the majority of the electorate who don’t want to see our green and pleasant land destroyed for 1.5m unnecessary new homes when there’s enough empty properties and brownfield to build what’s needed, truly affordable and social housing…@mhclg we didn’t vote for this.

Vulture populations in India collapsed. 500,000 people died as a result.
In the 1990s, Indian farmers started using a cheap painkiller called diclofenac on their cattle. When vultures ate the carcasses, the drug destroyed their kidneys.
Without vultures, cattle carcasses rotted in fields instead of being stripped clean in 45 minutes. Feral dog populations exploded by five million. Rabies cases surged. Pathogens spread through water supplies.
University of Chicago economists compared death rates in districts that used to have vultures to districts that never did. Human mortality rose more than 4% after the collapse. Over 100,000 extra deaths a year. Half a million in five years.
India banned the drug in 2006. The vultures still haven't recovered.
This is what a keystone species is to us. This is why we protect the animals nobody finds cute.

People without a bloody clue about nature should not own land! 👇
Pleas have been made for tighter laws to protect nature habitats and green spaces after two acres of woodland and scrub were hacked down without warning in Ilfracombe leaving "a wasteland".
The sound of birds was replaced by the sound of machinery as mature trees and plant life were obliterated and secret gardens, which backed onto the haven frequented by deer at Langleigh, were suddenly exposed.
The landowner said he had cleared overgrown areas in order “to manage the field” after removing trees that had got out of hand for neighbours.
North Devon district and county councillor for Ilfracombe Sara Wilson said she was “really annoyed and angry” that the work, which had completely changed the environment, had been done in the nesting season (between March 1 and August 31) when the trees were likely to be full of life.

1,000-year-old trees get turned into furniture.
Meanwhile, 100-year-old buildings are protected as "historically important."
Old growth trees support thousands of species over their lifetime, insects, birds, fungi, and entire ecosystems that younger trees simply can't match.
They’re living cathedrals.
We protect what we value. It’s time we started valuing these ancient giants the same way we value old buildings.

@anthon7yandrews Its clear that she has suffered abuse and that Zampoli used his position to have her deported (maybe raided?), but what is not clear is that she has anything to say about Melania/Donald/Epstein and trafficking. If she does not, fine. But the teases are hurting her credibility IMO

Viktor Orban has lost the Hungarian election.
The result is a significant embarrassment for Trump and JD Vance, whose visit to Budapest earlier this week, failed to turn the tide for Orbán, and may even have cost him votes due to public frustration over the Iran war and resulting price rises.

Excuse me, @BBCNews , the Jaecoo 7 is NOT a "medium-sized" car
It is an oversized SUV...the kind of dangerously large vehicles (like Jaguars and Landrovers) that are clogging and damaging the UK's narrow and congested roads
