@stoolpresidente Let’s say it how it is. The big player didn’t turn up. The poster boy is overrated. He didn’t help the team.

It would be so awesome if the United States didn’t suck at soccer. I want to have fun too.

@BUMPTAP @stoolpresidente True, but I’d argue that there’s fundamental issues with coaching here in the US. The “win at all costs” mentality across youth soccer kills player development, (instead of working on style of play.)

The reality is simple: America’s top athletes play other sports. In most countries, soccer is the only real path to success, so they pour their best talent into it. In the U.S., if you’re a gifted young athlete looking to transform your life, you follow the money and that money is in football, basketball, and baseball.

@stoolpresidente I don’t understand this post Davey. Are you talking about USMNT, or US soccer fans, or just soccer fans in general?

@stoolpresidente @troopzafc Dave ignore this clown. I’m English and I was supporting the US (aside from any potential match against England). Agree with your comments about the state of US soccer. The fox “pundits” don’t help with the hyperbole.

There’s only one team in this tournament everyone is watching and hoping they lose, and it’s us. And if we get to a final against England, I will fly to @troopzafc and be right up in his grill

New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool. Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can. Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment. A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.

@stoolpresidente Agreed, Dave. Shocking defending with just seconds left. Just clear the ball into touch. Sit through extra time, and try to beat Brazil on the counter or on penalties. Japan kinda threw it away imo.

This British streamer tried to get a man kicked out of the England versus Ghana World Cup game because the fan said some “racist comments” about the Ghana team. Sorry Ginger. This is America and we believe in free speech not liking the UK!

This morning in Parliament, I was accosted by Lib Dem MP Angus MacDonald, who accused me and others of inciting violence. His aggressive approach and tone left me feeling threatened and shaken. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially from fellow MPs. We all have different views and should be able to disagree respectfully. The Lib Dems support open borders, while Reform UK supports controlled immigration and putting the British people first. That’s not inciting violence, that’s doing what’s best for the United Kingdom. 🇬🇧

Imagine telling the police you’d been stabbed as your attacker stood by with his family. The officer replies “I don’t think you have mate”. The police handcuff you and read you your rights. As you bleed to death. RIP Henry. We will work tirelessly to ensure nobody else suffers your fate.

Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit. His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it. Henry was far from the first to so needlessly lose his life, and I fear he won’t be the last. Each time a life like his is lost, the proper response—the only response—is righteous anger. One of the most important things the Trump administration has proven to the world is that stopping the flow of mass migration and defending national sovereignty is a matter of political will and leadership. Anything else is an excuse. It is because we love the West that we want to preserve it. We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobody—nobody—should ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul.
Visegrád 24@visegrad24

In his final moments, Henry Nowak told police officers nine times “I can’t breathe” and four times that he had been stabbed. In response police officer dragged him across the gravel, handcuffed and read him his rights. It was the last thing Henry heard before he died.

Most of the difference is in the alb - Cardinal Dolan’s is more heavily laced (“granny’s lace,” as Pope Francis so cruelly dismissed it). Otherwise the vesture is very similar. One positive change is that Archbishop Hicks is wearing the pectoral cross under the chasuble, which is the rubrical norm.

It’s a great pity that the full potential of the Anglican Ordinariate has never really been realised. It would be fascinating to see an Anglican benefice with five or six churches give just one medieval building back to Catholic use and see how it functions in practice. If successful, it could become a model worth exploring elsewhere over time. The C of E seems to have other priorities right now, and could probably do without the burden?

Wilson is an inspiring possibility, the obvious choice; Longley would be a safe pair of hands; Hudson the candidate of the synodal deep state. May well be none of the above.

One month until Vincent Cardinal Nichols turns 80. Still no sign of his replacement. He's already the second-oldest serving Archbishop of Westminster since the restoration of the hierarchy in England & Wales. (If Rome leaves him waiting another 3 years, he'll beat Manning!)
