Short videos are the meta even for non-animated hard-surface portfolios.
Cool videos won’t get you hired, but learning how to make them is a ridiculously small price to pay for the attention they attract compared to stills.
Don’t underestimate the effect they have on non-art/tech people. If you’re targeting roles in larger companies and haven’t made a name for yourself yet, peacocking in front of them can make a real difference.

2.5 years ago my life changed. I was hit head-on by a drunk driver. I broke my tib/fib, my back, and injured both wrists.
One of the hardest parts has been accepting that I might never perform the same way in boxing. I stepped away for a while because the physical and mental toll was a lot.
But having a daughter now has shifted my perspective. It’s a reminder of how important it is to take care of your body and your mind.
So I’m putting the gloves back on soon. One round at a time. 🥊
