@PRLSG2019 @CheriDiNovo are you new? this conversation is about the Ontario budget and Doug Ford...stay with the program or sit down..smh...BTW research where the money comes from to help Ukraine...
English

@CheriDiNovo It was my hydro bills that kept me poor. Thanks McGuinty.

@JamesClay1917 @mattgurney This is from the motion: "d. financial supports including potential waivers of property taxes, development charges, and other applicable fees, to reduce operating costs and maximize affordability for residents." They could do this alone if they were really serious.

Brought to you by the same guys that have let the roads crumble into gravel, can’t clear out the city trash bins or handle snow in a Canadian winter — it’s food security during a time of environmental calamity and geopolitical upheaval.
Now Toronto@nowtoronto
#Toronto City Council has passed a motion to introduce a pilot for city-run grocery stores, and a community centre is speaking out about the benefits of the project. #food #affordability nowtoronto.com/news/food-shou…

@GarbageHuman24 A study among dating sites found that White women show the strongest overall preference for White men. Any attempt to portray them as otherwise is propaganda. Assuming the photo is real, this is an extremely rare match.

@_AlexPotvin @SteveSaretsky Just go to the food bank instead of the bath house Comrade.
English

@SteveSaretsky Any remaining goods will be distributed on based on social credit score.
English

@EricRStPierre So because someone new to Canada is ESL, you've summarily decided that they will "never integrate" or as in the case of your wife's business, be able to make a meaningful contribution to our society. Good to know. You score a ten on the asshole meter.
English

@BernieSanders From which house will you be picked up by your private car service?
English

@iacoden @Michelle_in_ON @JimMurp77852985 From the agenda item itself: "d. financial supports including potential waivers of property taxes, development charges, and other applicable fees, to reduce operating costs and maximize affordability for residents." if they really cared they'd do this without all the rest.
English

@Michelle_in_ON @JimMurp77852985 Stop printing money. Get rid of demand ( immigrants). Reduce tax on gasoline, get rid of carbon taxes across the board. Reduce regulations. Open the markets to competitors
English

Total grocery store profit in Canada, $6B. If they made zero profit the 40 million Canadians buying food would save on average $12 per person per month. How is the City of Toronto going to make this work without subsidies from tax payers. torontosun.com/news/local-new…
English

@Michelle_in_ON @JimMurp77852985 I have a plan. Implement these without the rest: "d. financial supports including potential waivers of property taxes, development charges, and other applicable fees, to reduce operating costs and maximize affordability for residents." @_BrotherGreg_ @FoodProfessor That's why they're replacing us with, well, everyone knows who.
English

@FoodProfessor The best thing I've ever done was kill the Universal Basic Income "trial" in Ontario.
Most people do not understand second and third order moral consequences. It is up to us that do to call out evil when we see it.
You owe it to the people to be explicit about what this will do.
English

"Government-run grocery stores may be one of the “best worst” ideas for improving food affordability. The concept is appealing to many, largely because the complexity of food distribution is often underestimated. But the reality is far more intricate than it appears. Still, if Toronto moves forward with this initiative, it could serve as a valuable case study—one that helps ground future debates in evidence rather than assumptions."

English

@deGruyther @FoodProfessor As long as we're all equally poor and the government gets richer...
English

@FoodProfessor The city run groceries will be failing, but rather than give up, bureaucrats will say that it is "unfair" competition from other grocery stores and the shut down of the other grocery stores will be either ordered or facilitated by a special tax.
English

@FoodProfessor What I want to know is why we always have people who think the government can do things more affordably when that almost never pans out. 🤷♀️
