It’s genuinely baffling to me how people are falling for Ashley St. Clair’s rebrand. Did everyone forget this girl knew about the kind of person Elon was when she pursued him AND she willingly chose to have a kid with him???? Also are we just gonna ignore the awful things she said? “She was just saying that stuff to please him” okay?? She still said it??? She’s only doing this whole expose tour because he dropped her. If he were still giving her attention she would not be doing this. Yeah it’s entertaining and yeah it’s great she’s exposing him but let’s not pretend she’s suddenly a great person who’s doing this out of the kindness of her heart lol.

The reason that specific era feels so distinct is that it was the technical peak of "2D-3D hybrid" integration, like Deep Canvas. Studios were blending 2D hand-drawn artistry with the limitless camera movement of 3D environments.
But sadly, these movies bombed at the box office and studios decided to go all in on 3D tech as the "fix" for declining revenues, rather than realizing it was the storytelling and marketing that needed to evolve.

Because Korras team is not supposed to be a formed family dynamic to begin with.
ALTA presents Team Avatar as a tight-knit found family formed through surviving war together constantly on the road, while The Legend of Korra intentionally portrays a more modern, emotionally messy friend group made up of teenagers and young adults with careers, romantic complications, personal insecurities, and separate responsibilities. The distance is part of the writing, not a failure of it.
Aang’s group represents unity formed through shared survival, while Korra’s represents connection maintained despite emotional messiness and adulthood pulling people in different directions.

@LulCruddy @fwmann1e Varrick co-designed those suits, which were derived from the existing Mecha suits. Hiroshi invented the biplanes. She's a brilliant engineer, but as far as actually inventing things, that's more Varrick's wheel house.

@Edel_______ @fwmann1e I can. Sokka helped inventors make stuff via goofy designs/ideas for certain parts. Not the same as designing a detailed blueprint & making it yourself. Asami designed/ invented humming bird suits, makeshift sand sailor, commercial biplanes etc. shes factually better in that area

Bro is comparing a spoiled rich girl to a prodigy 😭 Sokka had no rich tech company, no special powers, yet he still became the brains of Team Avatar.
He made battle plans, led invasions, came up with strategies under pressure, and helped end a 100 year war armed with nothing but intelligence, instincts, and a boomerang, emphasis on INSTINCT
And let’s not forget he was the one who took down Combustion Man with that same boomerang

@LulCruddy @fwmann1e You can't say Asami is better at electronics when that technology didn't exist until recently in universe. Sokka helped design submarine technology, became chief of the Southern Water Tribe (had to think of city infrastructure), and helped develop the war balloon. To name a few.

@fwmann1e Eh, asami’s still overall better, only sokka outdoes her in strategic planning. She’s better than him at literally everything else. Inventions, city infrastructure, electronics, business running, martial arts skills etc. asami is by all counts a genius prodigy all around

Was reading the Turf wars comics I realized something.
Asami was probably the first person in Korra’s life who loved her without needing the Avatar from her.
Think about it, Tenzin needed balance from her. The White Lotus needed duty from her. The world needed power from her. Even her enemies defined her through the Avatar title.
But Asami stayed beside Korra at her physically weakest, spiritually broken, and emotionally uncertain point, when the “strong Avatar” image had already collapsed.

If Aang never froze in the iceberg, the Air Nomads probably still get wiped out during Sozin’s Comet but the world never falls completely under Fire Nation control.
Instead of waking up 100 years later, Aang grows up during the war:
• constantly hunted
• learning the other elements on the run
• watching the genocide happen in real time
Honestly, that version of Aang might’ve become far more ruthless than the one we know.
