One of the pilots killed in the crash at LaGuardia has been confirmed as Coteau-du-Lac native Antoine Forest. Antoine’s LinkedIn page lists him as a first officer for Jazz Aviation since December 2022.

An initial impression listening to ATC audio — it would appear one controller was simultaneously working ground and directing aircraft (as evidenced by go-around instructions to Delta flight after accident). This raises serious concerns about staffing.

New daylight images show the full extent of damage to Air Canada Express flight AC8646 and the firefighting vehicle. Some of the latest pictures from the scene show debris hanging from the nose of the plane, while the emergency vehicle involved in the crash lies a few metres away on its side.

openai is quietly building a github competitor. let that sink in. github went down multiple times this year. openai said "fine, we'll do it ourselves." the wildest part? microsoft owns 49% of openai AND owns github. they're literally funding their own competition. openai already has codex, chatgpt for coding, and millions of devs using their api daily. adding a code repository means they own the full stack: write code → store code → deploy code. all inside one ecosystem. microsoft built github copilot on openai's models. now openai wants the whole pie, not just the filling. this is the most expensive breakup in tech since google and apple stopped being friends. except this time they're still sharing a bank account. 2026 is the year big tech stopped pretending to be allies.
