🇮🇱🇺🇸 “GRIM BEEPER”: ISRAEL USED PALANTIR IN EXPLOSIVE PAGER ATTACK A new biography on Palantir co-founder Alex Karp claims Israel used the US company’s tech in a 2024 Lebanon operation that turned pagers into bombs. On Sept 17, thousands of communication devices - mostly pagers and walkie-talkies - exploded across Lebanon. The targets were Hezbollah members, but dozens of civilians were also killed or injured, including at funerals the next day. Some devices buzzed or showed errors to lure people closer before detonating. The operation, dubbed “Grim Beeper,” left 42 dead and thousands wounded, many with severe injuries to their faces, hands, and eyes. UN experts called it a “terrifying” breach of international law. Israel reportedly saw it as a success. The book says Palantir’s tech was used in the attack, and the demand was so high that engineers were flown in from London to help. Palantir has also been named in a UN report for allegedly supporting Israeli military actions in Gaza and the West Bank, including predictive policing and real-time battlefield AI. Rights groups accuse the company of enabling war crimes. The UN is calling for legal action and sanctions. Palantir, so far, is staying silent. Source: Middle East Eye
