@AshleyCsanady Thank you! I think the city seems to have a bit of distinction between Hanlan's Point and Hanlan's Beach, which needs to be clarified. And personally, I like its more remote nature, so I would worry that adding a big venue on the 'park' side would change that for the worse.

@EdwardBDodd There is some mapping here about a "festival space" toronto.ca/wp-content/upl… It's vague in the document but a friend was told at a public meeting it could be a full-sized concert venue in some iterations of the plan

@neilloewen I understand the desperate need for more housing, but the one thing that always gives me pause is that displacing retail for a condo always seems to result in a bank or a pharmacy replacing a bar, restaurant or small retailer. I want both neighbours AND a neighbourhood.

Seems the sites with old retail storefronts affordable enough for independent restaurants/shops to lease are the same sites deemed to have a higher and better use as a condo tower with chain retail at grade. Policy should address this dynamic before our retail strips are gone.
