She didn’t ’crash the economy’. That’s a Labour propaganda meme. She did discombobulate the financial markets with a reckless budget, including unfunded tax cuts, which saw yields on UK debt spike. But she wasn’t in power long enough to crash the economy. GDP was untouched by her thankfully brief tenure. And, of course, yields on 10-year gilts are now even higher than when they peaked during the ClusterTruss.

We are aware of posts circulating online that claim French law enforcement are failing to prevent small boat Channel crossings. UK-French cooperation has already stopped over 46,000 attempted crossings since the election. In May alone, 65% of all small boat events were stopped despite soaring temperatures, which have historically led to increased crossings. But we know there is more to do. That is why the Home Secretary has signed a landmark new payment by results deal with France to boost enforcement action on beaches and put people smugglers behind bars. On top of the 46,000 crossing attempts prevented, removals of small boat migrants are at record levels and asylum claims are down by 12%. We have also removed or deported almost 70,000 people who were here illegally – an increase of 41% – and are going further to remove the incentives that draw illegal migrants to this country.

🔥 This is brilliant from Lee on LBC. Caller Lee takes Ben Kentish to task over the climate-change-causes-wildfires narrative and completely dismantles the idea that forests just spontaneously combust in the heat. Speaking during a discussion about the European wildfires, Lee said: “Forests, trees and grass does not spontaneously combust because it’s hot. I actually proved it because the wife’s a bit like meh. I got some leaves, I got some grass and I put it in the oven at 220°C for an hour and it did not burst into flames. It will only burst into flames because it’s dry, if someone puts a match to it or flicks a cigarette on the ground.” “So can we just dispel the myth that on 40°C heat that a tree will just spontaneously combust, because it won’t.” Absolute nail on the head. Dry vegetation burns more easily in hot, dry conditions — that’s not in dispute. But it still needs an ignition source. The vast majority of these fires are either arson or accidental. Well said, Lee. 👏

A good time to remind people that Zack Polanski publicly backed the arrest of Graham Linehan at Heathrow by armed officers over X posts. So I’ll have no pity on him if the police visit him over resharing an incitement of violence against Nigel Farage.

This is what Zack Polanski has just posted on his instagram. If I was to post anything as inciteful then I would expect to be arrested, and so should Polanski.

Both the BBC and Metropolitan Police appear to have acted in clear breach of legal obligations, contrary to well-established case law, in the BBC’s reporting about me over the weekend. I have written to both the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and the BBC’s Director-General setting out these serious breaches. My lawyers have also been instructed. Any media organisation considering repeating these allegations should exercise the utmost caution.
