I don't feel bad for Turtle WoW at all. Everyone complains (rightfully) about AI being stolen content. That's exactly what TWoW was, as they profited off a stolen IP. It sucks for the players who had all of their time erased, and I hope they can find happiness in something new.

After nearly 8 years online, fan-made Vanilla+ World of Warcraft private server Turtle WoW is shutting down. The servers will go offline at midnight on May 15, 2026. Donations have been turned off and the team is keeping support active until the final day. A genuine end of an era for one of the most dedicated private server projects. Thanks Blizzard

The year was 1999. Because MicroSoft loved what I did on Age of Empires they demanded I do the expansion pack for Age of Empires II. With Age 1, I did Rise of Rome, which made sense because the ancient days kind of ended with Rome. But there was no obvious successor to medieval tgimes, so I went with the generic "The Conquerors" theme. Naturally we wanted conquest civs. We decided to have 4 (same number as Rise of Rome). I chose the Huns, the Spanish, the Mayans, and the Aztecs. I was SO excited to get Aztecs into a game. And please, no one try to mansplain to me that "Aztecs were bad guys." Friend, I wanted them BECAUSE they were bad guys. Anyway, the Conquerors project was really smooth. We are almost done five weeks ahead of schedule - almost unheard of in a software project. I was so proud. My whole 6-man team was giddy because when we finished we could move onto Age of Mythology or Age of Empires 3, with the cool kids. Then Microsoft called. 1/2

You sound like a man. Breastfeed every 2-3 hours for 6 months, get mastitis 3X and dangle feed to extract the clog ducts, then express the blood from your tits in the shower at night, start solids and then still wake up every 3-4 hours to breastfeed the next 6 months, let the sleep deprivation accumulate to the point where you are barely functioning and then give birth to another baby 4 months later and do it all over again while caring for a toddler that is getting into everything. Not everyone’s experience is the same.

My conclusion from 4mos of parenting is that anyone who's told me it's hard is either soft or doesn't make enough money. I'm sure it'll be harder with 2,3,4, but so far one baby is a cakewalk.
