Europe is watching America become politically unstable, economically unpredictable, and strategically unreliable in real time. And now even longtime allies are quietly moving billions away from U.S. defense giants toward European industry. This isn’t just about Airbus vs Boeing. It’s about trust. Because once allies start planning for a future where Washington may not be dependable… the damage is already done.

🇮🇹 Italy Just Told Boeing to Get in the Bin Let’s be clear about what’s happened here. Italy, a country that has been loyally refuelling its air force from American-built tankers for fifteen years, has just written a €1.39 billion cheque to Airbus. Six A330 MRTTs, signed on 16 April, quietly published to the EU procurement portal on 19 May, and absolutely devastating in its implications. This is not a procurement decision. Procurement decisions are boring. Men in grey suits argue about maintenance contracts and through-life costs and nobody outside a defence ministry cares. This is a statement, delivered in the universal language of very large sums of money. And the statement is: we’re done. You have to appreciate the audacity of it. Italy is a NATO member. Italy hosts American troops. Italy has spent a decade and a half operating Boeing’s KC-767, which is, by most accounts, a perfectly serviceable aircraft. There was no catastrophic failure here, no scandal, no tanker that caught fire over the Adriatic. The Italians simply looked at the current state of American reliability, looked at an Airbus catalogue, and made a decision that any sensible person watching Washington in 2026 would probably also make. The A330 MRTT is, for what it’s worth, an exceptional machine. It is larger, more capable, and rather more elegant than what it replaces. But nobody is writing about it because of its impressive fuel offload capacity. They’re writing about it because Italy just became the latest European country to quietly redirect a billion-plus euros away from American industry, and toward the continent it actually lives on. Fifty countries looked at 90 missiles, 600 drones, four dead civilians and threats to foreign embassies in Kyiv, and signed a joint statement saying this was, broadly speaking, not acceptable behaviour. The Trump administration did not sign. Fifty nations managed it. But the regime in Washington, which has spent months slobbering over the man ordering the strikes, looked at the paper and thought: this is fine. We like this. Keep going. This is not America forgetting its values. This is a government that never had any. An administration that watches civilians pulled from rubble and sees nothing worth condemning, because the man doing the bombing is the man they admire. Christian values, as JD Vance would call them. The same JD Vance who warns that Europe is committing civilisational suicide. Lucky, then, that the world has Washington to look to as the guardian of civilised values. Or whatever it is you call declining to condemn the bombing of schools and apartment blocks. Presumably something with the word “Christian” in it. Historians will not be kind. But history will have to get in line, because the people in this administration will never set foot in Europe again, not for work and not for pleasure. No red carpets. No state dinners. No quiet holidays on the Amalfi coast. Just cold stares, turned backs, and the kind of contempt that does not need a translator.

Trump is a ruZZian asset. This is the only way we can react on USA now. They lose a lot.
