I am through the first round of over 10 rookie drafts and I have only picked twice

Here’s my mock. I hate uncertainty so took some contrarian shots. Not confident about anything. Irt the Browns if they can somehow come away with a combo of Tyson/Tate + Freeling/Proctor/Ienanchhor it’s a home run A+ imo. I just want a bonafide outside weapon + an OL who has already proven they can play LT instead of a projection. I just don’t love taking a RT with shorter arms at 6 (Fano) then taking a much inferior WR at 24 (KC/Boston). Just not the combo I’d go with. If u are going to take a RT and try and move them then I’d rather do that at 24 (Miller) if the top three LTs are gone. Can’t wait

Collegiate rushing production does have a small-ish signal for future NFL production for wide receivers, at least in the analysis that I did

College rushing production has a negative correlation to NFL production for wide receivers. We need to accept rushing production for wide receivers is essentially non-existent in the NFL. Deebo is literally 1 of 1. He’s the only receiver in the last decade+ with a combination of: - RB build - RB skillset - A creative offensive coach that was willing to utilize his skillset It’s not like receiver rushing production is a part of Shanahan’s coaching repertoire. It was literally only for Deebo. Wan’Dale Robinson had 141 rushing attempts in college. He’s had 17 in the NFL. It hasn’t happened anywhere else, it’s not going to happen anywhere else.

Seeing a lot of new mock drafts this morning, including our own Mel Kiper’s, projecting the Browns trading back with the Cowboys. Kiper has 6 + 39 for 12 + 20 straight up.
I’ve been using the Rich Hill Trade Value Model, and I think 6 + 39 for 12/20/112 is pretty fair for Cleveland. Andrew Berry said last year he envisioned this draft would be stronger in the top 30 picks. This deal could be the sweet spot to attack needs strategically and avoid missing out after a run on a certain position.

I'd say freeling is kinda out of running for top 12, but could see it after a trade down around 9-12.
Basically depends on their view of the gap between the 2 positions. I would think both are similar $ value nowadays.

traditionally it’s better to take the OT top 10 and then the WR at the end of the first
the consensus big board has 3 OTs in the top 12 (mauigoa, feeling and fano) but only one of them play LT. if they go OT first then there are 3 WRs in the 20-36 range (cooper jr, concepcion and boston)
if they go WR early they could have their pick of tate, lemon or tyson. there are also 4 OTs in the 20-36 range (proctor, lomu, miller and iheanachor)
and on top of all of this, we all know andrew berry will try really hard to trade back from 6. it’s going to be very fun to follow the browns on day one

An interesting note on #Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers: While officially he's a TE, several teams are evaluating him as a WR. At 6-foot-4, 239, his build can be compared to Mike Evans. Stowers, by the way, visits the #Broncos next week, and he's done #Rams, #Titans, and #Cowboys.
