I'll agree on both counts: the Apostles wrote scriptures while teaching the Church, and the church was not a highly organized Hierarchical system.
How would that make them Evangelical? or How would that justify the modern beliefs of Evangelicals?

@ElifNull The apostles wrote scriptures. The churches (assemblies) they established were not organized hierarchical religious organisations led by men adorned with silk, silver, diamonds and gold pretending to be Pharisees.
The masses were ignorant in the 3rd century, not today.

There is no difference between the writings of "church fathers" and the sermons of my pastor!
None of them can stop me from reading the Bible for myself to hear the voice of God.
Uninspired opinions and subjective interpretations of the text are not sacred.

Very good points here. I love and respect many of the early church fathers. But their teachings and writings must always be viewed as below scripture. Not equal with it.

The KJV in 1 Jn. 3:8 does not reflect the Original greek that the apostles wrote in. The apostles said the one who practices sin (ὁ ποιῶν ho poiōn).
ὁ ποιῶν (ho poiōn) — “the one doing/practicing”
→ present active participle → ongoing pattern, not a single act.

If for no other reason, the ESV is out for this error. It has led to a whole string of horrible theology by people who are ranking the frequency and severity of other people’s sins while excusing their own.

Disappointed to see yet another act of normalization of Mormon hate within the Conservative movement.

Here's the deal, and it is Biblical.
If you cannot get Israel right—if you believe the inhabitants of Israel today are not the real Jews—then I am not your Christian brother. Your form of Christianity is worthless to me because it is not Scripture-based. You are calling my Father God a liar, accusing Him of breaking His own words and lacking the power to return the right people to the land.
