Fun fact: In Spanish, black is just "negro". So when I'm speaking Spanish in the US, I never refer to black people as "negros" but as "hermanos" ("brothers") cause you never know when one of these unhinged retards might overheard and misunderstand you, and use it as an excuse.

🇯🇵 This clip has been going viral again. An Italian streamer in Japan said “amiga” in Spanish to some fans. He immediately gets blamed for saying something else by a random black dude and gets a 5-second warning to apologize or get assaulted.

@lanadunhamcel You need all that. I guarantee you he doesn't care about all that. Do you think that men seek women because we want all that? All the things you list are what WOMEN value in day to day life. You keep the lawn mowed because your wife would be horrified if it wasn't

- he would’ve eaten chicken nuggets for 3 meals - he didn’t care about the lawn - would’ve run any emergency errands in 30 mins ignored the rest - wouldn’t have made enough mess to clean house weekly or if he did wouldn’t have cared - “social plans” only women want that Men would live in a prison cell reading they book if they could. Women don’t want that and that’s what makes love so tragic

@NeverSinkDev I am pretty disappointed in the loot filter im hoping it gets improved in the future. I really wanted some thing more than just hiding and showing items.

I have some bitter feelings about the new Diablo 2 class that Blizzard shadowdropped after playing it through normal. (Warning, just another Blizzard Rant) The new warlock class can: - Use ANY 2H in one hand + shield. Keep 2H damage. - Fire skills put Druid/Sorc to shame in terms of coverage. - Has own Teleport skill with built-in 'curse-on-hit' - Demons all provide massive auras+buffs on top - Other trees also seem crazy good New broken content is and can be fun. So what is my issue? Warlock just has EVERYTHING and more. Teleport from sorc, curses from necro, summon buffs from druid, great AoEs, shield + 2H weapon damage or 2H skill boosts. D2 has not received patches in years. The first major patch it received was to sell this OP class. I don't want this excellent game to be stuck with a class that just outshines everything else. I'm not confident at all that Blizzard will care to balance this later either. Now I want to give Blizzard a bit of credit here. The QOL updates for D2 are really nice (loot filter, gem/rune tabs etc), even if they're sold at a steep price. However, right now my feelings about the DLC are mixed at best.

@howie4317694102 100% if you want a good job in SW get a security clearance and also maybe sec + That means don’t have a felony, don’t owe taxes, don’t have family in other countries, and be able to pass a drug test. Lots more jobs open for Americans only there

I think the strat for internships, at least in tech, is applying solely to companies that require at least a low-level security clearance. This is because it automatically excludes all foreign and dual-citizen students (Indians) because they legally cannot hold a clearance

@StocksPursuit @SanDiegoKnight Well yeah, mostly they’re not low skill. It obviously depends though. It’s more nefarious than just low skill workers tho, it’s more, we’re never investing in Americans because they’re going to be more expensive and we can exploit H1B workers instead creating a skill gap forever

@ElixirDiablo @SanDiegoKnight Agree , I just wanted to poke hole in the propaganda that H1b employees are of low skill and they are brought here for just cheap wages and the racism attached to it.

Harvard economists studied H-1B wages. The result: employers save $25K–$30K per worker per year vs Americans. Key Findings from the NBER Study (2026) 1) H-1B workers earn significantly less than comparable U.S. workers •After adjusting for education, age, occupation, location, and gender: •H-1B workers earn about 16% less than comparable Americans. •In dollar terms: •Roughly $25K to $30K lower annual earnings on average. •Employers capture large payroll savings over a 6-year visa term. •Those savings create strong incentives to hire H-1B labor even with higher visa fees. 2) Wage gaps are largest in outsourcing-style firms •Major U.S. tech companies show small wage differences. •Outsourcing and staffing firms show much larger gaps, sometimes exceeding 30% below comparable U.S. wages. •The study notes that most H-1B hires are actually spread across thousands of smaller firms, not just big tech. 3) Demand for H-1Bs remains strong even with high visa fees The model estimates: •A $118K to $264K visa fee could maximize government revenue. •Even high fees may have little impact on total hiring because employers still save on payroll costs. Projected outcomes: •$6.2B to $22.4B in potential annual fee revenue. 4) H-1B workers cluster heavily in tech roles •~38% are software developers alone. •Nearly two-thirds are concentrated in just five occupations. •Many are located in a few high-wage metros like San Jose, Seattle, Dallas, NYC, and San Francisco. 5) Skill level vs pay level mismatch •Employers often classify H-1Bs in lower wage categories. •Yet the study finds: •Nearly 75% of H-1B workers rank above the median skill level of comparable U.S. workers. •Highest-skill H-1Bs actually show the largest relative pay gaps. 6) Labor market dynamics behind the wage gap The paper argues the visa structure creates a quasi employer-worker lock-in: •H-1B workers change jobs at about 9.4% annually, far lower than the 20% to 25% turnover seen among comparable U.S. workers. •Reduced mobility can give employers bargaining power, which suppresses wages. 7) Policy takeaway from the study •Because employers save money on wages, raising visa fees alone may not reduce demand much. •Instead, higher fees may: •Increase government revenue •Shift hiring toward more highly skilled workers rather than reduce overall usage. Harvard economists just blew up the “skills shortage” narrative. H-1Bs are cheaper …not better labor. @RonDeSantis @Eric_Schmitt @RepGregSteube @RepGosar @StephenM @chiproytx nber.org/system/files/w…
